The Southern Churn — Restaurant in Virginia

My family and I came into The Southern Churn to get ice cream. The two staff members working were very helpful and friendly. The ice cream is really good although we felt it is overpriced for the serving size. We also purchased fudge which is good quality and was priced on a sign but later found out it is priced by weight, which we didn’t know at first, so it ended up costing more then what the sign advertised. What we were most unhappy about was that the staff charged us a card fee to pay with a card. We were not informed of this at all at time of payment and saw it on the receipt and had to ask about it. If I would have known this, I would not have paid with a card and I feel like it’s unacceptable to be charged this fee without being notified first. I am sorry for coming in and asking for 3 peanut butter milkshakes. I should have known better than to assume a business would have the same flavors for more than a week. Y'all must be slammed with this rainy weather, and ran out. I definitely should have known by the young brown haired girls attitude when I walked in, that I was being annoying. I definitely deserved to be treated like I was the problem. There's no way working at a candy shop could be a great job. I'm glad she was able to let out some of her personal problems on me. There is a sign advertising fudge for $16.99 for a pound and a half, which they inform you is six pre-cut squares. My friend and I each got a pound and a half and were each charged $25.50. We were each given different reasons (by the same person) for this price. She was told $16.99 was if all squares were the same flavor, even though the sign says that you can get up to six varieties for that price. I was told it was the weight of my squares “and the weight of the box”. This felt really dishonest and I would not return.
