*This review is to amend my initial review. There have been significant improvements to the staff, the menu display, the hours, and I have not had a negative experience in several months. I’d like to let the management and staff know that I appreciate the effort to improve the experience. Thank you.
Let me start by saying that the food is good, which is the ONLY reason it’s not one star. I have been frequenting this place since the soft opening, probably a dozen times. There have been issues from the very beginning AT THIS STORE. The other location off of Ten Mile doesn’t have these same issues.
Repeatedly the store has been closed after the advertised opening time. Sometimes as much as 10-15 minutes after the posted opening time. Other times, if they are open, the store has one employee trying to get things going while another employee or two will walk in with their iced coffees. If a business posts hours of operation then they should be able to conduct business during those hours.
On one occasion there was a small child in the store, her parent working. I typically have no issue with a child at someone’s place of employment, however the child was observed wandering into the back storeroom by herself, as well as going behind the counter. I would consider both circumstances not appropriate and dangerous for an unsupervised young child.
There is only one register to take and process orders. There have been several occasions when the person at the counter didn’t have an understanding of the point of sale system, causing a delay in service to other customers. This is exacerbated by “to-go” orders through Uber Eats or another provider. Now the ONE register attendant has to deal with multiple issues.
The longest I’ve had to wait for 2 sandwiches was 45 minutes after ordering. 45 MINUTES! How is this acceptable? If you don’t have the operational setup, or staff, to make 2 sandwiches in 45 minutes then there is a significant issue with construction layout and staffing.
Today we waited for 12 minutes before we left. The 2 women in front of us and the person attending to them didn’t have any idea how to solve whatever problem was presenting itself, and not so much as a “we’ll be right with you” from any staff member. Meanwhile the 6-8 people in line are just waiting….again.
I can NOT recommend this particular store. It has been mismanaged from the beginning. I truly hope upper management understands that I want that store to be successful, but I do not see that happening on its...
Read moreLast Friday, my friends and I decided to try a new food place. I ordered 12’’ Urban Cowboy and Pastrami on Rye from Gandolfo’s New York Deli. First I tried the Urban Cowboy which tasted like a regular chicken sandwich with a lot of sauces dripping from both sides of the bun. It was very good and very easy to eat, but that is something I did not expect from this sandwich. Stuffed with 3 different meat and cheese types, all of them tasted well together, but all of them lost their own unique taste, adding to this being just another overpriced chicken sandwich with a lot of add ons. Pastrami On Rye, well woah, that was one of the most delicious sandwiches i ever tried. Pastrami was 10/10 with the pastrami portion so big that it was coming out of the bun, however this sandwich was much smaller than the 12'' Cowboy. For a $23 Pastrami sandwich I expected something not just delicious but of value too. I ate this sandwich in 6 whole bites and under 3 minutes which indicates that the portion was too small for me. Overall, the first one was very tasty, but it was not worth the money, while the second sandwich was not worth the money...
Read moreWe used to love this place, and they haven’t even been open very long. But they have new owners now they would not honor a gift certificate purchased when the previous owners were in charge. We had a receipt and everything and the owner literally told the cashier on the phone to “stop making their sandwiches” like we were some sort of criminals when they were trying to figure out how to ring up the gift certificate. You lost a customer today and I won’t recommend you to anyone else. Poor business ethics. Avoid this place. EDIT- The owner said they would not call us back because we left a negative review.
RESPONSE TO OWNER: Your own employees were the ones that made the gift certificate that way, and we have a receipt for proof. I understand that it has been high turnover of employees it seems like but instead of trying to make it right, you just downright refused and insinuated that we had a faulty certificate.
