Interim Coffee — Restaurant in Carlsbad

Thank goddess I finally found a coffee shop I like in Carlsbad west of I5! A great cup of coffee (Americano) with the correct number of espresso shots (4) without costing me several days coffee budget. The other trendy coffee houses are ridiculous with their 2 shots only, even if they do offer larger sizes just charge more for water in a bigger cup! Sick. Can’t believe locals accept that.

However, at Interim it may be a no frills little coffee shop but he does coffee right! Ray is a helpful, patient, friendly & excellent barista.

Sadly no heavy cream but that apparently is standard round town too.

So I give 5 stars and will be back tomorrow with my own heavy cream for an excellent, strong and reasonably priced Americano. My 16oz iced Americano double quad 1/2 caf was $4.50. Best tasting coffee for fair...

Came here after reading the reviews since I was visiting home for a little and wanted a nice spot to go to. Interim did NOT disappoint. They have a cozy shop with an encapsulating feeling of the San Diego coast you’ll have to see for yourself. I ordered the espresso, which was fantastic. It was so good I went back in to talk to the owner about it. He happily explained to me how they roast their own beans and how they started up their shop. It’s just 2 cool buddies (from my understanding) that own and run the joint. I ended up getting a bag of the steady rock easy beans to take home cause it was so good! Whether you’re looking for a good drink to start your morning or some friendly conversation, Interim is definitely worth checking...

If you are a local and want to get away from the tourists and have a great cup of Joe, this little gem is your spot.

The beans are not over-roasted like the Corporate Mermaid brand, and has a great flavor, is smooth and robust.

This spot is tucked away behind the main buildings on the Cbad Village strip, and is a walk up, order, and go spot. The shop offers a small collection of vintage items for sale inclusing old surf photos, camera's, reggae vinyl, etc...

There is no seating inside the shop, buy it offers a super chill patio that definitely promotes the good vibes. There are lots of tiny succulent plants surrounding you while you sip...
