Visited on a taco Tuesday and to our delight the tacos were 3 for $14. You have to get all 3 of the same tacos which is odd but we just ordered a few kinds and shared between 4. The restaurant has great decor with a great mix of textures and tones. There is an indoor/outdoor vibe with the back half that has a motorized awning that got opened at night. On top of tacos we tried the fries, elote, beans and rice. The fries were okay, not very loaded so only the top half of them had toppings. The elote was DELICIOUS. Comes with 2 pieces so great for sharing. The rice and beans were nothing to rave about but again great for sharing. They were packed when we visited and sadly they had people call out. The bar had 1 person and drinks were taking 10+ minutes. (Thanks again) So long that one of our drinks got comped. The service while slow was still great and our waitress smiled the entire time while getting her butt kicked. She was friendly and attentive. The host, busser, and bar back were all pretty lost and moving in slow motion compared to the work the 2 servers were putting in. We never saw a manager that night so maybe they called out to? We will be back to give another try for sure in hopes the service is faster.

Mahi grilled fish tacos were tough and possible overcooked. Birria tacos were cubed not shredded with pickled red onion and no consume. The green sauce was heavily roasted almost black in color but was okay. Their three sauces were different. One sweet basilica which was odd for the menu, two very vinegar heavy habanero sauces added some tang to the otherwise a average Mahi Mahi tacos. The black beer was poured without a head to the top preventing the release of the hops and making it very malty. The blackberry margarita was good. The deserts sounded good but we didn't want to risk it after the meal. Overall, probably not what you are looking for if you are craving Mexican food but if you want to try some different flavors, it might be an option.

Walking by Jalisco at night you will undoubtedly witness people having fun, as it’s one of the more consistently busy restaurants in Carlsbad Village. Go there just one time and find out why. Atmosphere is wonderful and the staff from top to bottom is professional and very much on their game. The chips are thick and crispy. It is what you want and what you are looking for in a chip. The guacamole doesn’t disappoint either. We all got tacos and leaned not only does it come with four of them per order but the tortillas are made in house daily. I got the corn. The kids got the flour. Everyone left deeply happy and satisfied. Really nicely done and absolutely worth a visit.

We are first time customer. From the minute we walked in they treated us with great service. Our server Carla or Karla treated us very well and when we asked about recommendations she gave us great ones. Even went and asked about a drink that wasn’t on the menu and made sure we got a season item that wasn’t very delicious. When we got the appetizer she asked us if we liked spicy food and brought some very spicy salsa from the back. When it came to the main dish she recommended us to add a protein and a sauce to my burrito. When the food came out the server Carla or Karla brought it out along with the Cook Rafael. Who assured us it was going to be a delicious treat, and they did not let us down. We have not had good customer service from any restaurant in a very, very long time. I was glad we came to Jalisco Cantina, where we got treated and served very well. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great experience whether it’s for some drink specials with appetizers or to enjoy a dinner with...

I really want to love this place. I loved Jalisco in Oceanside and was so excited to have them in Carlsbad. My first meal in Carlsbad was excellent, along with my favorite Cilantro Smash Margarita. Second meal was just ok, and my friend’s margarita was not good. We sent it back and they confirmed the tequila had been left out of it. Third meal we had a fabulous burrito! Today we went for lunch and were so excited for the burritos…I ordered the vegetarian as I had before, and it arrived with only rice and cheese. I asked if there should be salsa (like the menu said) and the server said they could provide hot sauce, but would have to charge for the salsa. The menu confirmed it should also have slaw (it didn’t), but she insisted the burrito was as it should have been. My husband’s was rice cheese plus an $8 small piece of mahi mahi. I tired Jalisco, I really want you to succeed, but I think I’m done...
