If you are looking for a quick bite to eat look no further than Crackheads. This quaint niche restaurant and bar provides the perfect intimate atmosphere for catching up with a friend, hanging out with a friend or a casual date. It is exclusively outdoor seating that is bathed in the Carlsbad sun, but they do offer covering for those looking for a cooler spot as well. Food: Their main dishes include variations of breakfast sandwiches which include, meat eggs and cheese in a variety of combinations, but they also serve other types of American sandwiches and have avocado toast on their menu as well. The bar is a full bar serving all the traditional cocktails, local beers and wines, but they also have several of their own cocktails as well. *Side Note Most of their traditional breakfast sandwiches are greasy and tend to soak through the box, bag and napkin. Staff: We "accidentally" walked past the hostess and headed straight to the counter so I did not get to experience the initial greeting, but once we ordered and sat down she came over to make sure we were taking care of. The cashier was friendly and definitely helped us with our first time navigating the menu to find what would be the best dish. Even when they ran out of ingredients for my coffee order, she tried as best as she could to make it up to me. The bartender was friendly in a similar fashion and was able to get most people's drink orders out relatively quickly. *************************************************************************** Environment: The restaurant was very modern and chic it have a main dining area that was off to the side and the wall was lined with two person seating bar tables. On the other side were picnic bench style seating that could fit a family of six. Then you had the bar with wrap around seating that could fit about 30 people and the upstairs dining area as well which provided more four person seating tables that could be combined. Overall: This is a great breakfast spot to grab a quick bite at before walking down to the beach or a great place to grab drinks at after a day in the sand. *************************************************************************** COVID-19 UPDATE: IN compliance with COVID-19 regulations all the staff were wearing masks and encouraged all customers to follow suit until they are seated. All tables were wiped down after each eating session and tables were spaced apart for social distance along with being equipped with plastic barriers.

There waas no wait When we got there at 10:30. The hostess and staff were very professional very sweet and welcoming. Great place to go if you need some "hair of the dog" drinks after a night out. There's picnic tables on the lower level area and a seating area upstairs. Not a very large space but the tables can accommodate 8-9 people depending on your size. The menu is scanned for viewing on your phone. It has 3 or 4 breakfast sandwiches to choose from. I'm not sure if that's just the breakfast menu, or if it's the whole menu???? There are also burgers on the menu, but they don't serve it at "breakfast time"which isn't until after 11 A.M. However there's nothing that says that warning on the actual menu. There was a chicken salad, tater tots and loaded tots that looked amazing as the waitress walked by with it. There's also a big alcohol selection to choose from. They are kid and pet friendly! The crackhead breakfast sandwich has bacon, sunny side up egg, cheese and the crackhead sauce on a tosted brioche bun. It all melds into a delicious sandwich. Would recommend for a quick bite or to stay and drink.

The place looks cool from a distance but the view from the second story is not at all interesting. Your view is blocked by trees on the south side, and honestly there's not much to look at besides passing cars. What I found weird was that I was told to find my seat first rather than outright order at the bar. Unlucky for me, the waitress has already gone on break, but another staff member remembered me. I would have been waiting up there unnoticed! It's great that she came when she did because I was about to leave. The drink was the saving grace. It was an old fashioned for $13, served in a lame plastic "glass". It was annoying that I wasn't given a napkin with it. How strange! The Pro: it tasted like a strong amount of bourbon-awesome for those of us that like it that way. The music is a little loud, so like any bar expect to lose your voice or do very little listening. Seating was fine on a Saturday 9pm. The drink came out promptly.

The name is so perfect and fitting that it earns a star through that alone. The restaurant itself is situated next to a bar, both located outside. The restaurant is still perfect for bringing kids as there is enough space to run around a little. They are very pet, friendly as well, offering dog bowls of water, sitting out for them to use. There are two specific reasons on why crackheads is so special. 1. Their breakfast sandwiches are life changing. Fluffy bread with perfectly cooked eggs to your liking and breakfast meat that must be sourced from heaven. I went for their signature crackhead sandwich.. this features a sauce that brings it all home and makes it truly the best breakfast sandwich you can find. 2nd the service by the staff is always top-notch. On top of remembering our faces and carrying out consistent conversations whenever we go.. Berlin, the cashier also is always on top of your needs and wants within the restaurant. She seems to single-handedly give out great service to everybody. We’ve never walked in without getting a smile. Crackheads has definitely become a part of our routine. The good food there is an absolute must, I stand by my statement on their sandwiches… but the service and quickness, considering how busy it is will keep...

The service was horrible from one female server in particular. I genuinely don’t know what caused the server to act the way she did. We flagged the server down to get our check after not getting checked on at all besides when she took our order. The customer service was poor then too as she only comes up to the table and stands there with the tablet until we ordered. No greetings whatsoever. One alcoholic beverage and two waters to start out. The one drink was brought out (very bland & overpriced for quality), and we never received our waters. At one point I wondered if I was supposed to get my own water, or if the cleaning cart with a rag, bucket, and water pitcher on it was a station to get my own…I would have asked the server, but I never had a chance due to not being checked on. It’s a beautiful place and is at a great location, but the poor customer service is not worth it. The stress of wondering if you order at the bar or wait for your server, on top of not knowing if you get your own waters makes for an unpleasant time.

I didn’t catch her name but the server was a blonde, younger woman, with a black shirt and rusted orange flared pants. Served by her on 10/21/2023. I would love to come again one day when the...
