We were suggested to this place for brunch by some friends who said the prime rib was to die for, and we also saw they had massive spreads of seafood and sushi. It turns out, as of 2024, they have shifted their menu to only have a continental breakfast style buffet. This has yet to be mentioned on their website. The food was supremely mediocre, and the coffee was burnt and awful. The silverware and glasses were filthy and we never got replacements for the utensils and glasses they took.
I did not bother trying anything after having a few bites of a dry as dust ham and some extremely greasy potatoes. The options all looked so bad that most folks in front of me would open lids, make a face at the food, and close the lids. My dining partner had a few nibbles of random items just to try things and they were all under seasoned or just seemed greasy or both.
The wait staff all seemed miserable. I cannot say I blame them for it. This was apparently the hot spot to get brunch on the south side of Denver, and if the menu changed so dramatically it will definitely impact them as well. Now I am doubly upset that some dingus higher up or marketing moron not only ruined what was apparently an amazing experience for their guests, but also affected the money going into their employees pockets. Our meal was comped today because everything was so gross and below expectations and I imagine so many others had the same experience today. The manager even said that many guests today had similar issues and questions.
If there was an option to increase the price and keep a similar, high end experience, go with that. LITERALLY NO ONE WANTS TO PAY FIFTY DOLLARS PER PERSON FOR MEDIOCRE HOTEL FOOD. Get that through your thick skull, whoever made these changes. This is literally how establishments fail. You are creating a lower priced bait to attract more guests in the short term using an established name associated with quality. What happens when that quality is no longer there and people stop associating the restaurant with quality? If we had seem pictures of the spread that was present today, we would not have even made a reservation. Anyone who sees the existing photos on Google or other review sites will be disappointed in the same way we are until all traces of that old...
Read moreI recently visited the Garden Terrace, a well-known restaurant that was supposed to have the best seafood buffet in all of Colorado. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling quite disappointed. Perhaps my expectations were set too high, but there were a few issues that stood out.
Firstly, the oysters were not up to par. They were dried out and sitting on the ice for too long, and no fresh ones were brought out during my time there. Additionally, the hot hors d’oeuvres looked nice but were cold, making them less appetizing.
On the positive side, the sashimi was quite good and was a bright spot in an otherwise lackluster meal. The desserts, however, were nothing special and did not leave a lasting impression.
One aspect of the restaurant that I will commend is the service provided by the servers. They were friendly and attentive, promptly bringing tea and water to our table.
Overall, my experience was not as enjoyable as I had hoped. While the sashimi and service were good, the lack of fresh oysters and cold hors d’oeuvres detracted from the overall experience. I hope that the restaurant takes steps to address these issues in the future to ensure a more satisfying...
Read moreWay overpriced! Some food was excellent: the carving station, made to order omlets, and fresh seafood. BUT Eggs Benedict had a solid yoke, ham was rubbery, and hollandaise was meh. The bagel toppings looked good, but there were no bagels to put them on. Both kinds of potatoes were average at best. BbQ shrimp was bland. Pastries were of big box store quality. Fresh fruit was great but cheeses were just ok, although the jam pairings were yummy. Italian meats tasted like they'd been out too long. They kept running out of plates; no one seemed on top of replenishment. Table service and station service was OK. Most were pleasant, but some seemed inconvenienced and rather put out. On the hand the servers at the dessert buffet were delightful. Unfortunately they didn’t make up for the tastelessness of the very pretty desserts. The mimosas were ok, but for the price of the brunch the bottomless option should have been included and not subject to an upcharge. The food was beautifully displayed, the room was lovely, the music was good, but way too loud. The experience was supposed to be a huge treat for my family, but left us underwhelmed....
