We were really looking forward to our dinner as I’d heard good things. We internally chose to sit at the chefs counter as we enjoy watching the magic happen and getting to chat with the chefs.
It was clear from the moment we got there that they were busier than they were prepared for.
Our server was nice, but chaotic. We sat with multiple empty cocktail glasses for much of the evening. We had a cocktail that was forgotten, which they did take off our bill. Our waters didn’t stay filled, and our server rarely came by to check on us.
We did the chefs choice for the menu. We started with the tuna tartare and the beef fried rice. The tuna was good, although it could have used some acid to cut it. The shrimp crisps were tasty and the plating was beautiful. The beef fried rice was… not good. It wasn’t crispy, and it was DRY. The mains were the shaking beef and the chicken curry. The flavor of the dish was good, but I’m still not sure what the lettuce and tomato were for on the side of the plate and the meat was very tough. The curry was good, but very very salty. However, we didn’t get our curry til the beef was gone. Thankfully we share everything, but if we’d been eating separately that wouldn’t have been great.
I did add the crispy potatoes as a last minute addition. They were not crispy. They tasted boiled. We watched the chef demonstrate how to smash them some to get them crispy and that didn’t happen.
For dessert we had the panna cotta and the bread pudding. Both desserts were good. They were the highlight of the meal.
We had 4 cocktails between us. The old-fashioned, which was good, but there was no star anise or cardamom. The green dragon, which was “meh”. The burnt out (the one that we tried to cancel, because it took so long) which was better, and not super sweet. The final cocktail was the sweet and condensed (the Vietnamese coffee with bourbon) which my husband liked.
The portion size was good. It was a solid amount of food for the price, but the quality, flavors, and service left much...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Try Vietnamese Gem!
We loved this place from start to finish. The service was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overbearing — the kind that makes you feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and modern, with an inviting energy that makes it ideal for both date night and a lively dinner with friends.
We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and not a single plate disappointed. The tuna tartar was fresh and beautifully balanced. The shrimp small plate absolutely stole the show with its bold, vibrant flavors and tender cabbage — it was one of our favorites of the night. The coconut mussels were another standout, swimming in a rich, aromatic broth that we couldn’t stop dipping into. The chicken wings were perfectly crisp, and the chicken curry was deeply flavorful, comforting, and just the right level of heat.
The shaking beef was cooked to perfection — tender and savory, with a delicious caramelized edge that paired perfectly with its accompaniments.
Dessert was just as impressive. The banana pudding was heavenly (a table favorite!), the Vietnamese coffee sundae packed a flavorful punch, and the crème brûlée was silky and rich with a flawless sugar crust.
Every dish had its own personality, and the flavors felt both authentic and elevated. You can tell the kitchen puts real care into what they serve — nothing felt rushed or generic.
Favorites of the night: the shrimp, the mussels, the chicken curry, and that unforgettable banana pudding. We’re already planning our next visit.

Read moreThe reviews don’t lie, this is a gorgeous restaurant with amazing service and delicious food! The food was very good, but it didn’t BLOW me away, however it was definitely delish enough to return, multiple times back to in the future! I want to specifically call out Tyler who was our server and we learned was their social media POC too. He was someone we wanted to have sit down with us and enjoy the meal with, such a kind waiter & gave true Charleston hospitality, we loved the energy & passion he brought to our table, I’ll be requesting him every time. He provided great recommendations & was extremely attentive. 100/10 for Tyler specifically but EVERY person that checked on us, starting with the host was a 10/10, the service alone welcomes people back! We had tried the veggie summer rolls, papaya salad, spareribs, crab “pasta”, side of potatoes, and veggie curry. Two mocktails and two cocktails were had. VERY happy bellies left. We had ordered an extra rib at our table that was left off and was given extra order of them due to the miss, which was incredibly kind (and very much welcomed because they were DELISH). I will say the food got a 4.5/5 as I think there could have been a little more flavor to the papaya salad and the Crab “pasta” (maybe add in a spice option?) and the pasta is difficult to grab/eat since they’re the clear noodles (difficult with chopsticks or without table shears), and lastly potato’s were just OK, they could have been a little more crispy. I however would absolutely return and look forward to trying more and will be ordering dessert next time for sure. Thank you for being a fantastic add to the Charleston food scene, wish Google would let me give a 4.5/5 instead of a 4, because that extra .5 was earned. See you...
