I was really excited to try Feed and was really prompted to come by the reviews. For reference, We came on a Sunday afternoon, no wait and it wasn’t very busy throughout the restaurant. I’ll start with the positives then move on to why I’m only giving 2 stars.
Some negatives:
This wasn’t the most expensive restaurant experience, but for $80 for two adults and 1 kid we expected to have a much more elevated experience. We own restaurants and have worked in restaurants in different capacities, so we understand the ins and outs however this experience could have been avoided all together with right systems in place. We were really...
Read moreOh man--it is the day after and I'm still thinking about last night's dinner. My wife and I came super-hungry and this was our first date night in a while. We were seated right away at a table right up front that was private, but with a neat view of the kitchen. Every dish is inspected by the manager before going out and it's clear that they take pride in what they're serving. I am always looking for a smoked or roasted wing option, and their smoked wings were wonderful. I always remember when I can get wonderful wings that aren't fried, and this experience put Feed Co at the top of my list. I didn't have any sauce on them, but they brought me some samples to try. The Carolina Gold and the dust they use is wonderful. I'm glad they let me try them. My wife had some fried green tomatoes that looked great. She was happy. Next up, I had the fresh salmon with mashed potatoes and carrots--Oh man it was great. So fresh and wonderfully prepared. My wife had a spinach salad with grilled chicken that looked amazing. She has bad luck with salad and chicken quality sometimes--and it was so refreshing to have such a wonderfully cooked chicken breast off the grill with such fresh spinach and strawberries. Lastly, I wanted to say that I'm nearly 100 days into a sobriety journey and it is very helpful for me to be able to have non-alcoholic beer when I'm in a bar/restaurant/concert venue/etc...anything like that where a beer would normally be in my hand. I want to thank The Feed for carrying a non-alcoholic IPA option so nothing felt out of place and I could still have that experience. Thank you for carrying a few different kinds. Athletic Brewing Co has some amazing options as well if you wanted to add a handful to your can collection in the cooler. Anyways--I wanted to thank you for a great experience last night. I don't think we could have had a better experience or meal. Looking forward to my next visit for those smoked...
Read moreThe teenage boy host who greeted my mother when she walked in to get a table for our party of 8 was one of the rudest hosts I've encountered in a very long time. Why have someone greeting guests who clearly hates his job and has an absolutely foul attitude? He'd do much better bussing tables, like ours needed, where 17 glasses were left behind by our server (along with other plates and items) when we got up to leave - I know this because I counted them. I paid a 20% forced gratuity for this subpar service by our server. Also, the food took forever. It too was subpar. The calamari took well over 20 minutes to hit the table, and it was undercooked and underseasoned. The potato soup had so many red bell peppers in it...weird and not good at all. The fried fish in my fish and chips was overcooked and filled with grease. Awful food for the price.... which after the forced 20% grat AND 3% credit card surcharge, was almost $300 for 8 people for LUNCH. Included 1 alcoholic bev and 2 apps - still outrageous. Maybe if the food was amazing, I wouldn't complain, but it was so, so far from that. In the women's bathroom, all 3 trashcans were overflowing mountains of paper towels and other feminine items onto the floor. No manager stopped by to ask about our experience... our server barely had time to serve us (and not well). 20% grat? So ridiculous. Most of the other reviews for this place are great 5 star reviews... maybe they are using their 3% surcharge to pay for good reviews? Bots? Not sure, but this is the widest credibility gap I have observed when comparing the Google Reviews of a restaurant to my actual experience. Stay away from here. This is a real and...
