I wandered in, tired of the usual spots, which is to say, fast food. Brandon (I hope I spelled my new friend’s name right) was waiting outside the door as I was walking in during a break and then gave me the info on his workplace before making me a delicious handcrafted Maple Street sandwich. He also let me know that this week’s shipment of fresh Turano bread and Boar’s Head meats were coming in tomorrow, prompting my desire to return. I noticed the way he interacted with other customers, a co-worker, and a man I believe was one of the proprietors, if not simply a regular (‘Big H’), and was impressed with him as well as his knowledge of music and cinema in our sporadic conversation. With high-tops, the café also has comfy couches and seats where I intend to come back to on occasion for a place to do work or write, whether being creative or planning. The place was clean and small without being too tight, an appropriately intimate setup. Plenty of condiments, drink options, and quality chips. In short, I am glad I...
Read moreWalking into Gold Coast Café, I was immediately impressed by the modern, stylish ambiance. The soothing blend of grey and blue throughout the space created a calm, inviting atmosphere. The music playing in the background was the perfect touch—relaxing and not too loud, making it an ideal spot to unwind.
One feature I really appreciated was the kiosk ordering system. It made the process easy and quick, even with the rush of customers they were handling at the time. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff remained friendly, helpful, and patient, which really stood out to me.
I ordered a macadamia nut cookie alongside my coffee. While the cookie was tasty, I felt it could have been a bit fresher, but overall it was still enjoyable. Their coffee was solid and paired well with the snack.
Another thing to note is their daily deals, advertised outside—definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area. All in all, it was a pretty good experience, and I’ll definitely...
Read moreCame in last week to order a sandwich to go. As soon as I walked in one of the guests in the seats turns around and stares at me. I was immediately uncomfortable. They kept staring at me for quite awhile before I even walked to the kiosk. I assumed I was going to be greeted but no one not even the person staring said anything. Once I reached to the kiosk, the person gets up and leaves. I’m waiting in the sitting area and the person returns back into the store. I get up and leave with my order and the person literally SAT DOWN in the EXACT same spot I was sitting at two seconds ago facing to the door. This creep had plenty of spaces to sit which made me uncomfortable to even walk out of the store. He watched me leave the store.
Not sure if he was a worker or just a weirdo but I’m NEVER...
