Just a heads up- they open at 4. We showed up at 5pm, after walking a really long way—-They were closed. 👎🏼👎🏼😱. Luckily, the worker (maybe owner) was still in there and allowed us to come in. Sooo thankful for him— Thank you! We didn’t have a lot to choose from, which was a big big bummer because I was very much looking forward to this shop. We were able to grab about 4 different things. 2 were okay, the other 2 were good! My daughter got these chocolate cake balls with stars on them. They were very bland and almost sour tasting. They left her hands and mouth completely black. The lemon bar was very decent, but left it lacking something more as it had too much granola on top and I felt could have used more lemon. The snickers tray was my fav!! Like I said, we didn’t get to try a range of different things, so I truly can’t get a full review. (Hence the 4 star). I didn’t give a full 5 star on the atmosphere because we literally didn’t stay in the building for longer than 2 mins. So, just a heads up for those traveling, call ahead to make sure they are open! 5 star for service for opening up the door @ 5pm even though you were closed…even though it states online you were open until 9pm. Side note:: they are all gluten and dairy free🥳 We will def stop by again and hopefully get to try some different things this next round.:)

The best place for desserts!! And I love that every item is gluten free, refined sugar free, made with the highest quality ingredients, and I actually don’t feel sick after enjoying an “indulgent” treat. I absolutely love the frozen raw bars. They taste like an ice cream sandwich from your childhood but 1000x better from Syd’s creativity with the flavors. Also don’t skip the savory menu. The made-to-order sour dough bread is SO good. It’s the only bread I buy now. It’s the best gluten free sour dough bread I ever had. The soups are also really hearty and delicious. Honestly you can’t go wrong ordering anything from Ingrained. I’ve never had anything but the best experience. Yes, the price are more expensive than your box of Oreos. That’s because 1, it’s a small local company run by a woman Syd and her husband, not a giant corporation 2. All of their ingredients are ethically sourced, better for your health and longevity ingredients. She may use dates for example to sweeten a dessert instead of refined white sugar so yes that will cost more. 3. She uses superfoods like Maca and Spirulina that are amazing for your health. Yes that will cost more than industrial flours and dyes. The price is an investment to your health and ingrained is absolutely worth it

Ingrained is an absolute gem in the Chicago snack scene! From the moment I tried their handmade, plant-based, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free snacks, I was hooked. The care and dedication that go into each product are truly evident in every delicious bite. What sets Ingrained apart is their unwavering commitment to using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. As a consumer, it's incredibly refreshing to know exactly where my food comes from and to support a company that prioritizes transparency and sustainability. Not only are their snacks incredibly tasty, but the ethos of the company resonates deeply with me. Ingrained's dedication to promoting local and small-batch producers is admirable, and their passion for creating honest, sustainable products is truly commendable. The staff were absolute gems as well. I highly recommend Ingrained to anyone looking for wholesome, flavorful snacks that not only taste great but also support a meaningful cause. Kudos to Ingrained for setting a new standard in the snack industry, and I'll definitely be a returning customer!

Original review deleted and this is a repost because the owner shared private customer information in their reply that I did not authorize and is illegal to do so without consent. Attention owner: you do not have my consent to share my personal information. If my private information is shared again in public by you, I will be forced to sue you.

Original review for public awareness: Buyer beware: overrated, overpriced, horrible service. The white woman owner discriminates against people of color. When I asked her questions about her store because I was genuinely fascinated by it, she acted like I was a HUGE burden to her and even just breathing the same air as her was a borderline crime. Then a white guy came in through the store & she went out of her way to service him. Also she made cinnamon rolls for these white girls but when I asked for it, she said she didn't have time to make it even though there LITERALLY was a cinnamon roll already available on the counter. The guy owner said that it was for another order but literally there was no one else ordering & all the to-go orders were already boxed up...right and I was born yesterday too. What a bunch of rude liars. These owners need to realize that their customers pay their bills and treat them with respect - they turned a potential fan into someone who wants nothing to do with them. The nail in the coffin is that their signature dessert of a peanut butter cup was $10! For basically a Reese's peanut butter cup. LOL what a rip off scam. Originally, I got it to see what the hype was all about and I can confirm for you that you can pass on this if you don't want to get scammed into paying $10 for a Reese's cup and...
