Sophia's Deli & Restaurant — Restaurant in Cincinnati

Found this gem yesterday and I was hooked!! Noticed the sign outside and thought I would try it. From the small home feel when you walk in to the AMAZING gyro, I was hooked from the moment I walked in. Was greeted with a big smile as soon as I walked in off the cold street. They were obviously family and they seemed to really enjoy what they did. They were laughing and joking with the customers and a big sign to a great restaurant is that they seemed to know alot of the customers by name. So, that tells me that they are regulars and all great dives have regulars. It isn't a big place by any means but that's part of the charm and I imagine it was done on purpose. I was just hooked from the mi Ute I walked in and I'm getting ready to go back right now! Just jumped on here to make sure they were open and thought I should write a review because of how great my experience. Oh, the Gyro was amazing too. Not that old hard lamb that alot of places serve but it was thin slice awesomeness! You could taste the different spices and the texture was perfect. It had the texture of a quality meat. First time going to sophias and I was very disappointed, I ordered potatoes,eggs,and french toast .. First of all I payed $10! For this meal.The whole meal was horrible,I ended up throwing it away .. I ordered cheese for my potatoes..there were no cheese therefore I just had alot of dry tasteless potatoes. The french toast was DISGUSTING they did not add any powdered sugar no cinnamon NOTHING.The french toast was literally tasted like bread! I am sooo disappointed especially sense in all it was $10. I called back explaining how it was disgusting she did not offer my money back all she said was I can talk to her boss. I will NEVER go to this place again and I will NOT recommend this place to...

Enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at Sophia's yesterday. "Pete" is the owner/chef and got my eggs prepared EXACTLY as I like them....Yoke runny & hot, Whites solid. I love to dunk my toast. Can not seem to get this right with most cooks....but when I explained how I like them to the server (I think she is Pete's sister). Anyway, 3 Eggs are included in an order along with potatoes, meat (I had Glier's goetta - cooked to perfection YUM) & toast. I live in Madeira, Ohio and will drive there again for Breakfast anytime!
