Beach Hut Deli — Restaurant in Citrus Heights

If I could give 0 stars I would! I came to this location today and purchased 2 sandwiches. I specifically said to the lady at the counter that I felt like "a bbq" sandwich. So I ordered a Pig Kahuna and asked for her to hold the hot sauce. I also ordered a second, Hobie, sandwich. I get home to find both of the sandwiches were terribly made. The Pig Kahuna was burnt, was completely covered in way too much cheese, the pork sopping with hot sauce, which I asked not to have on my sandwich, and absolutely NO bbq sauce. Not to mention the second sandwich was completely wet. Even the wrapping paper that was used was extremely damp when taking it out of the bag. I drove all the way back to this location for them to fix my sandwich. It isnt far but the weather was not ideal. When I asked her to fix my sandwich she took it and added the tiniest amount of bbq sauce to it and handed it back explaining she thought I said no bbq sauce. I completely understood and left without an issue. Get home and the sandwich is the worst sandwich by far that I have had. I dont know what went left here. All I know is I am out $30 because the menu is pricey and it wasnt worth it at all. Next time I will...

I want to start by saying that I have only ever had delicious sandwiches from here until today. I usually order the Californian which is basically an avocado and cheese sandwich with all the veggies. I have ordered this sandwich from various Beach Hut locations at all different times of the year. The avocados are always perfect. Today the one I received from the Citrus Heights location had avocados that were rotten. I called the store after receiving it and the manager told me that avocados were out of season so they were forced to serve rotten ones. At this point I was less concerned about the bad avocados than I was about the fact that they straight up admitted they were serving rotten ingredients. Anyway, I get that avocados have a season, but if they are bad they shouldn’t offer them as an option. Wowzers!!! I’m new to the area and I love food . I was first introduced to Beach hut from someone who knows me well . Let me just tell you this ... THEY ARE NOT STINGY WITH MEAT AND VEGGIES!! And their veggies and meat are always fresh fresh! I started with full on meat meat meat ❤️. With my current health situation I had to omit meat for a while . And let me tell you ... THE LA JOLLA IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST VEGETARIAN ANYTHING I HAVE EVER EATEN . If you’re a vegan just omit the blue cheese. I add extra . This sandwich will make you want to become a vegetarian. It’s DELICIOUS 😋. I don’t know if this is the store I always door dash from but it doesn’t matter . I order this sandwich at least 3 times a week . At work it doesn’t weigh me down.
