As a lifelong Hulk Hogan fan, I had eagerly anticipated this visit. Hogan's Hangout, owned and frequented by the wrestling legend himself, was a bucket list destination for me. However, upon entering the restaurant, I couldn't help but notice that the Hulkster's iconic wrestling career was somewhat understated in the décor. While it had a welcoming and spirited sports-themed atmosphere, I had expected a more extensive display of wrestling memorabilia and references to Hulk Hogan's illustrious career.
Our server, Kelly, deserves special praise. On only her second day, she provided impeccable service. Hailing from upstate New York, she was a delightful host, checking in on us frequently and even making sure my gluten-free mother-in-law's dietary needs were met. Her attentive and friendly demeanor earned her a well-deserved 10/10 rating.
However, I feel compelled to return to my initial point about the lack of Hulk Hogan theming. I believe it could have added an extra layer of authenticity to the experience. For instance, menu items could have been given catchy wrestling-inspired names, like "24 Inch Python Wings" or "Hulkster's Slammin' Ribs," to immerse diners in the world of the wrestling legend.
Now, let's dive into the food review. We began our meal with the chicken buffalo dip, served with multicolored chips. While the first batch of chips tasted slightly stale, the buffalo dip was an absolute revelation. It was a culinary masterpiece, a perfect blend of chicken, buffalo sauce, and cheese. It truly deserves a "chef's kiss" and is the best dip I've had in quite some time. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
For my main course, I ordered the 499 Ribs. These succulent ribs lived up to their reputation of being fall-off-the-bone goodness. The portion was substantial, and the accompanying BBQ sauce was a flavor explosion. I opted for mashed potatoes instead of fries, but they arrived slightly under-seasoned and lukewarm. While they were creamy, they lacked that extra kick of flavor. Consequently, I rate my dish a 4/5 and recommend it, but with a preference for the fries.
My husband's choice, the King of the Sea, was surprisingly worth every penny. The dish included four shrimp, four scallops, a piece of grouper, and a generous serving of Alfredo sauce. He thoroughly enjoyed dipping the toast into the Alfredo sauce, proclaiming it "good AF." His verdict was a perfect 5/5, and he wholeheartedly recommends this dish.
My mother-in-law, a burger enthusiast, ordered the house burger without a bun, opting for cheese and bacon, accompanied by a side of mayonnaise and ketchup. She found the burger to be decent but wished for more gluten-free options on the menu. Her rating for the burger stands at 4/5, with a minor suggestion for an extra dash of seasoning.
To sum up, our overall experience at Hogan's Hangout was pleasant. The atmosphere was vibrant, the food was delicious, and the prospect of occasionally spotting Hulk Hogan himself, given his proximity to the establishment, added an extra layer of excitement. Additionally, the opportunity to purchase memorabilia from his nearby store, with an extended range of clothing sizes up to 5XL, and the potential for surprise visits from other wrestling superstars and celebrities, make this place an even more appealing destination. Whether you're a dedicated Hulkamaniac or just someone who appreciates excellent food, I encourage you to visit and support Hulk Hogan's establishment. It's a great place for both fans and those seeking a delightful...
Read moreSo im not any one that leaves reviews. But the experience yesterday was awful. I have been to eat Here plenty. I am a local. The issue is that my mom and Dad ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich. There was little to no meat on it. They where splitting it cause again we have had them there we know how much food you get. My parents don't complain that's not there thing. They are the type pf people to pay and leave but when you have a $20.00 sandwich and they're is barely anything in there. So they told the waitress. The waitress just looked like she can careless. Ok. I had to speak up. Then my mom said something again. Then behind my mom's back the waitress was laughing which was super disrespectful. Then they brought the cook out. He said ill.make more meat. My mom at the bread all it really was. The right thing from the beginning would have been will make you a new sandwich. That wasn't said at all. They paid full price for barley anything on that sandwich. The cook said the meat is all packaged and portion the same. Then my aunt ordered the same thing. She had 3x the meat on hers. Hers came out right after. So it was clear all the meat on my mom's sandwich clearly was on my aunts cuz her sandwich was loaded with meat tons of it. The waitress should be embarrassed laughing behind my mom's back treating her as if she some crazy old lady. My parents never complain they have plenty of money at the end of the day. It was the principal ans they waitress laughing and again not 1 time mentioning can we make you another sandwich. I spoke up cause it was so ridiculous. And I'm one to keep my mouth shut cuz there is a million Karen's out there. That's not me. I had the turkey club. Was great. Split the 2nd piece with my parents. So it's sad I had to give up my food. Terrible experience and again am in area often. I don't see myself or any of us coming back. You pay a high price for food and that's the service you get from a waitress. 100% disrespectful and I am in the industry of customer service. Some staff needs some training. We all paid our bill in...
Read moreWent on Monday night to scout a location to watch the Super bowl. The hostess informed us if we wanted to pay $25 cover for karaoke we could stay on the first floor. We didn't want to spend an extra $50 so we were banished to the second floor.
Food- Started with the Mahi bites. Came in a quick fashion. Were slightly under cooked and needed more seasoning. Tartar sauce helped with flavor. Ordered the Po Boy with coleslaw and the POKE nachos. Sandwich and nachos were very good flavor and really enjoyed them both. The coleslaw might have been the worst that I have ever had. It was a bad combination of chopped up leftover lettuce, a little cabbage and a cream sauce with little to no seasoning. I tried to add S&P, but didn't help.
Service - Sat up to bar and noticed that the draft beer selection on the second floor was less than half of what the first floor had. I then asked about a couple drafts and they said they didn't have any. So I asked about a couple different bottles/cans and they were out of them too, so I went with a Hogan Pilsner. It was ok, average at best. Never did get a glass of water with our meals. I am not sure they had that on the second floor either. Possibly the most unfriendly service I have ever had. It was almost like we were a burden to them sitting up to the bar. I felt like I was living a bad season of bar rescue!
Ambiance - Like a mentioned we were sent to the second floor if we didn't want to pay $50 in cover to listen to karaoke. The second floor had a cool little set up with some inside and some outside, but it lacked several beers.
We were scouting out a place to watch the Super Bowl and we will continue to look. We won't be returning no matter how good the POKE Nachos and...
