Hot Sake Sushi & Asian — Restaurant in Clearwater

Very high-risk restaurant! Had a happy and relaxing day at the clearwater beach, the good mood was completely destroyed here! This restaurant has a very good location and has many good reviews, but my experience was completely different. The management was disordered. 3 of us were waiting for 20 minutes, but the restaurant has priority to jump in two 4 people, and a team of 6 people. After reminding them we came first, we were temporarily assigned a two-person bar table and temporarily move a very low chair for us. After waiting another 20 minutes without service, we chose to leave! Maybe many people had given many good service reviews, but our experience was terrible, do not recommend and will not visit this restaurant again! After that, we went to a nearby restaurant called Charlie's Sushi & Japanese Restaurant with the same score of 4.7. We ordered the combo sushi and seafood ramen. My family came upon this restaurant after walking off the main sidewalk into the parking alley. We were quickly seated since only one other family was there. There isn't free parking for restaurant customers.

Sweet tea wasn't true sweet tea, but adding Splenda sugar made their tea better. For soft drinks, we were given a glass with ice and the canned drink to add.

I got the double crunchy roll which comes with 8 pieces for $11.

My son got hibachi steak cooked to order and substituted plain white rice. He is a picky eater, but loved his food. I thought the steak was chewy. The portion was a generous dinner size and seemed to be the most expensive item on the menu at $30.

My husband and little one shared hibachi chicken with plain rice. The chicken was tender and had a nice sauce on it. Cost $23.

A few months ago, a menu from Hot Saki Sushi & Asian was dropped off to my coworkers and I (we work at a resort on the beach). We ordered the lunch special and the food was fantastic. It became a lunch time favorite for three different departments. Unfortunately:

Service is not very nice. We seem to annoy them when we want to place orders.

Even though we were having the food delivered to the same place, they charged each of us a separate delivery fee.

Now, they are saying they will not deliver outside of third party services (Uber, Doordash).

So then, we arranged a pick up order. When we called, they told us they were no longer doing the lunch special (listed on DoorDash and their website). It is now $7 more per order!

It is disappointing, because this a small place with great food, but we've never felt appreciated for our business. We ordered from a new place today....
