Best tacos I’ve ever had. Now, this isn’t a review of the location, the atmosphere, the service, or anything other than the food.
I had no specific problem with the things I just mentioned...but if you’re craving some tacos and trying to figure out what place on the beach to go (like I was), you probably want to know about the food and don’t really care as much about some of the little things that picky people knock stars off for (Or how about the guy who seemed salty that he couldn’t get a burrito...just get some tacos or go to Chipotle).
So here is my review of the tacos:
As I stated upfront, these are the best tacos I’ve ever had. And I wasn’t drinking at all that night. Usually I’ll say “these are the best tacos I’ve ever had” or something at 2am after drinking...but I didn’t even have a beer with my dinner.
At first I thought the prices seemed a little high for such a “small taco” but figured it was just due to tourist location. After the tacos came out I can see why they are priced how they are. They are worth the 4 bucks or whatever...the quality and flavor is that good.
I tried 3 different ones. The veggie taco had a really nice flavor and wasn’t just thrown onto the menu to please the vegetarians that might come along with their meat eating friends. (I used to be strict vegetarian and would have been happy eating 3 of these).
The “Get Shorty” taco was awesome. Nice portion of meat inside a warm, hand made tortilla with a unique and awesome flavor.
My favorite was the “Cuban Pig” which had similar ingredients to a Cuban sandwich but inside that amazing tortilla. The unique blend of flavors and textures is simply amazing for a taco.
So...hands down the best tacos I’ve ever had. I plan to go back and try a few new flavors next time and see what else I enjoy, but honestly all the choices sounded amazing.
Well if you read this far, I hope you ignore some of those other reviews that were complaining about the atmosphere or service or lack of options and just go...
Read moreMy family came here over the weekend for a rehearsal dinner. My brother was getting married and we came on Friday night and we initially were having a wonderful time and there wasn’t much staff (despite it being a weekend in a resort town) but we understood that getting food and drink would take time. Our server was doing great, but from family and friends I was starting to hear concerning things about the bartender. She was an older blonde woman, and I didn’t catch her name because I did not approach the bar as I began hearing about her demeanor. People started to not want to approach the bar because of her. It was beginning to dampen the spirit of why we were there. Some of us hadn’t seen each other in quite a long time, and the wedding being the next day, we were all happy and celebrating. We were not being rowdy. Things took a turn when the bartender became extremely rude. Several family members were spoken to so negatively that they began to cry. It was an instant mood shift and made my heart drop because it was unexpected and extremely upsetting given the reason for our being there. It brought a sadness to what should have been a night of absolute joy. The situation was not handled well at all and we were made to feel like we were the problem. We had not been at the bar long before this issue arose. The bartender commented on how one person only gave her a $3 tip on a $17 drink order. The night had barely started and that was 40 cents shy of 20% so her anger was confusing. It was a baffling and intensely upsetting time. We were more than happy to spend our time and money here, but after she became hostile, we decided to all leave in order to salvage our night together and the spirit of love we had began with. Thankfully we managed to bring smiles back to the bride and groom by...
Read moreWent here over the weekend at night my bf and I. The loud obnoxious blonde bartender with the black hat on that night was very rude & disrespectful! I approached the bar first, bartender comes up to me I asked for a drink menu she stated they do not have one (rudely) walks off. My bf then approaches the bar with me she comes back hands us food menus? Bartender comes back within 1 minute or 2 to take an order I wasn’t ready since there was no drink menu I was undecided what I wanted to drink my bf then tells her we’re not ready yet she walks off (with a negative attitude) a few minutes pass we decide what we want to drink & the bartender leaves us unattended for 10-15mins goes off disappears in the back for 5 extra mins I then leave the bar stand at that point. I go back to the bar after 5 mins she refused to acknowledge me approach me or attend to me and takes other customers orders. She’s very disrespectful refusing to acknowledge me & come take my order while she clearly sees me there is unprofessional eventually my bf comes up to the bar she was near us at that moment & he ask for drinks out loud she then acknowledges him & responded “sure babe” she needs to be put in check about treating all customers equally and if something may have offended her she needs to learn to not to take it personally in her line of work. Do better as a bartender & do your job properly don’t leave a customer unattended & start attending to who you want selectively. It’s not okay & there was absolutely no reason given to even behave the way this lady did. You’re there to serve and make all customers satisfied that is your job your duty. I’m very unhappy with the poor service &...
