I’ve been coming here since it was Tejon Eatery, and I’ve always been a fan of the diverse food offerings. However, I’d like to share a recent experience at the bar that left me disappointed. On my last visit, around 11:45 pm on a Friday I noticed the bar shutting down, and I had only ordered a single beer and a water.
This was surprising, especially since the posted closing time is 2 am, and there was no announcement for a last call. It only came to my attention when I noticed the bartenders processing and signing off on receipts for tabs. When I requested to close out after seeing this, the staff seemed surprised and provided me with my bill, which included an automatic 20% tip that brought the cost of my single beer to just under $11. While I understand the practice of closing tabs for absent customers, a heads-up would have been appreciated, considering I was one of only four patrons present.
Additionally, for any owner/manager listening, I believe there’s a missed opportunity in not offering late-night food options on weekends. The pizza place clearly understands the demand, as evidenced by the consistent line of customers that were served outside of the building. If the other restaurants followed suit, they could potentially enjoy...
Read moreMan this place has so much potential but was an epic let down. Only one restaurant had someone that actively seemed to try and engage, and didn't seem absolutely miserable there. I think the place could do with more advertising to bring in more people because maybe they're all just bummed at how slow it was? I don't know. The food was average, nothing to write home about. The appeal to these places are that everyone can get a different type of food. My husband was done with his food, before I even had mine, and again both places were equal in busyness. Now let's talk about the pol table ......... I'm an actual pool player so I'm probably pickier than the average person. It was TERRIBLE. If you're going to charge $1.50 a game, at least have a decent table. The felt was trash, and the table was uneven. May as well offer it for free. There was also no one there that could service it. $1.50 just wasted due to poor management. I don't know. We won't be back, but I hope they get it going a bit better. It really could be an...
Read moreDecided to try this place as it just opened. If you enjoy hanging out in a dimly lit warehouse with 50 identical metal tables and chairs, this place is for you. Looks like the owners added a few fake plants and hoped we'd forget what a well decorated food hall looks like. So low effort. The existence of COATI just down the street really makes you wonder how the owner thinks they will get much business. Service was great and the employees were very friendly. The fries were good but the burger was dry and tasted like it was frozen. Wings were similarly lackluster. The quesadilla was tiny and $15 for tortilla and cheese.
I really hope they can find a way to turn this place around with some good music and a menu revamp but I'm not holding my breath. In the meantime, there are plenty of better establishments in the springs to spend...
