Black Kahawa Coffee: roastery + bar — Restaurant in Columbus

I will start with something nice, the staff was SO lovely, and the atmosphere is quiet, calm and chic… so a nice location to visit. However, I was really disappointed in the coffee. The espresso that they use is dark roast… roasted to the point that the beans are shiny with sweat losing out on so much flavour. I asked for a flat white, naturally the charged for a latte - which is fine if it’s not on the menu…. But I had to stop the barista during her pour as the milk to coffee ratio was way off 🙃The milk was steamed too hot accentuating the burnt flavours of the coffee. So for those who like hot lattes with that dark dark roasted flavour notes — this place would probably make you very happy… in unfortunately tossed it out after 2 sips because it’s just not my preference at all for coffee. Love it, I have came at least twice a week since they were operating out of the food truck. Owner is super kind & reminds me of my father who is also a stand alone business owner. Staff has similar personalities of being kind, calm & collected. It’s a coffee shop, if you’re in the mood for some hustle & bustle maybe don’t stop here… but if you have the time for some good coffee & calm environment it’s definitely worth the pit stop. WISH they were open Sundays because it’s my only day off work...
