Momma Goldberg's Deli — Restaurant in Columbus

We ordered this for delivery and were absolutely shocked when it arrived and not in a good way at all. I wish I had thought to take pictures but I was honestly just so shocked when it arrived. The only reason I gave it two stars is because I ordered a wrap and it was ok and we ordered some cookies to share and they were good. Otherwise, for the money we spent we could have gotten 4 of the huge sub sandwiches at any other sandwich place in town in comparison to what we spent here and got so little. My husband ordered a build your own sandwich and I am honestly at a loss of words at how little meat was on there. I don't even know what to compare it to but I literally thought it looked like two of those mini-sandwiches you get at weddings or after funerals because it was cut in half, except they had less meat. There was also no way to add veggies online but the way it was worded on the menu we thought they came with. Nope! So, I had ordered just a house salad but I ordered the bigger $10.10 Momma Goldberg's size thinking we would share it. Well, my ten dollar salad would just maybe fill one of the small Corelle bowls or a Dixie paper bowl. My husband used it mostly to dress his little naked sandwich. I literally am struggling because if you look at my other reviews they tend to be more positive. I just don't understand how they stay open. Maybe we just picked the wrong items but even with inflation, I don't know how they justify their prices for what you get. I am not even including the extra costs for the delivery including the tip we gave our driver because we were doing delivery no matter what. The food was ok. I had a veggie burger on rye bread (this is a plus, customers can pick any of the breads), veggie burger was bland but I ate it! My friend had a salad with grilled chicken. She was disappointed with the lack of chicken on the salad. It was at lunchtime, so perhaps they have reduced portions at lunch? What really was the worst part of the visit wasn't even the food, it was the LACK of cleanliness. The tables were literally sticky with grease and grime! Our plastic menus were sticking to the tables! Menus, condiments, everything was sticky! We wiped down our own table the best we could, but they really need to be steam cleaned at this point, or use some Crud Cutter, because that is what was over ALL of the tables, pure CRUD. The floor was nasty as well. Then, there is something going on with their trash bins. They have been altered to prevent the little swinging door from swinging. The waitress said it was due to people throwing away the black plastic baskets. So, basically, customers cannot really try and help by cleaning off the table because the trash cans don't work! I haven't been to Mama Goldsberg's in over 10 years, but I had some business in the area, and thought it would be nostalgic how I remembered it "back in the day". Nope, nothing was the same except they still sell sandwiches. I will not choose Mama Goldsberg's again unless they literally clean...

Me and my husband used to come here all the time. It’s been a couple years since we visited, and tried it again about a month ago. The food was not good, it was extremely dry, and they seemed to have either forgotten to steam our sandwiches or they no longer do that. If that’s the case, they’ve ruined the sandwiches. They also didn’t print our ticket so we had to ask about it and wait twice as long. We tried it again today because we wanted a good sandwich. They forgot items on our meal, tried to make us pay twice, and the food was awful. The sandwiches were so dry we couldn’t even swallow them, and we had to wait forever. The staff was arguing with each other and didn’t seem like they knew what they were supposed to do. Many people were not receiving their food or had to wait triple the time they should have. At one point the girl working the register said very loudly, “God, what even is this rush?!” With people in line and others still waiting on their food.
