Plece is so, so awesome. My wife and I (Liv have lived in SD for 6 years and still do but have never been here til last night, - work has placed us here after 10 years), staff and bartenders were so awesome (last night we waited at the bar and there was only one seat, where my wife was sitting, yet they had no issues if I also stood next to her the entire time even though there was no extra seat), that our "50 minute wait", was in fact 50vminutes, but honestly felt like 20. It was so nice we came back today and just sat at the bar even for our meal, befause we didn't spot our waitress from last night there and the bartenders are awesome, friendly people we never waited more than a few minuted for a refill, for. I should've taken names, but I did not so I will describe them - the red/slightly pink colored hair waitress on 18may2024 evening was absolutely incredible. Super friendly, and my wife and I (despite knowing how busy it was), never felt like she was bothered by us. On the same night, and also about 2 hours ago (19may2024), we didn't see the same waitress and thus decided the bartenders (same we had last night), we're so great that we'd just give up our table on the waiting list tonight and stay there. No names, again, but there was a man, Asian in descent, a woman, and blonde haired Caucasian woman with pigtails, both super professional we wanted to point out and that's when entire point of the review is to highlight them (I'm sure that the rest of the staff, besides the 3 I've mentioned, are great as well but this is just personal experience), and their excellent service and customer service skills. We never had an empty drink, or even something simple like napkins (as clean people, we usually do ask for more but they were on point). Highly recommend this place. We'll definitely be back for another date night when work/time allows, thanks for making both days so enjoyable...

Do you ever have a gastronomic experience at a restaurant that would have been really perfect, were it not marred by a glaring, unforgivable, markedly un-delicious aspect? I was really looking forward to ordering tacos, since I was visiting San Diego for the first time and was told by my brother that the Mexican food would be exceptional. So, high expectations going in, perhaps, which usually leads to petty complaints later on. Good things: First of all, the endless chips and salsa and queso at the table was a sheer delight. The appetizer platter (pictured) we ordered was also very good and full of fried delectable treats, and even my mother (who dislikes raw fish) dove into the poke-style tuna. Although, the nachos were a little singed. My chili-mango margarita (pictured) was divine. You should get it. I'd go back just to drink it. Bad things: my main dish, the ahi tuna tacos (pictured). I should have paid attention to the fact that they were served in hard shells and known something was up. Now, I'm not crazy for hard shells, but I'll eat them. These shells, however, were not mediocre. They were inedible. They lacked every kind of flavor except bitterness. They tasted like they'd been sitting in a neglected corner of a storeroom since 2016 and were only discovered just recently. I ended up scraping out my ahi tuna and avocado and eating it with a fork. The real kicker is that the tuna was deliciously cooked and seasoned. Whose idea was it to wrap this scrumptious food queen in such shoddy garments? Whose, I ask? Anyway, combining this unfortunate taco situation with the fact that there were only two tacos and the rest of the plate was the typical filler of rice and refried beans (and this was a $14 plate), I left the restaurant a little heartbroken. I didn't quite recover till I had tacos on the beach the next day, which were very cheap and yet delivered a soul-healing...

Very nice restaurant, but at the very least, when you walk in, with a reservation , and you’re on time ,you should be greeted by a friendly hostess, instead of acting like you’re a bother. Zero greeting , zero enjoy your lunch, nothing . Then your waiter comes over . Not a friendly greeting, just his name , took our drink orders , brought a soda when water was ordered and instead of saying I misunderstood or something, he just literally snatched the coke and said you said you wanted a coke. I ordered water . Took our lunch order . Came by once as he was walking fast by the table to ask how things were but didn’t wait for an answer. Brought check and once again, nothing but a sullen attitude and dropped off check without a word , just kept moving . When he picked up card and left his machine with no word, just turned it for me to tip. , finally said very insincerely have a nice day. We were trying to figure out why he was treating us like the way he was. Like he was mad at us before we even got started. Kind of ruined the lunch. One smile or anything but the attitude he had. Too bad, because the food was good but we probably won’t be back. When you go out to eat, you want a combo experience. The atmosphere , waiter, food, hostess is the whole experience. We did leave a 15% tip because we were not sure if he had to tip other people. The people bringing...

I'm so disappointed. I remember Miguel's used to be craving inducing Mexican food. I finished a BIG two month project and wanted to celebrate. I ate on the actual cantina side because the wait was 10 minutes. I ordered the two chicken red sauce enchilada combo. I'm not down with the tomato sauce /enchilada sauce and it was thin textured and bland. I'm sure the flavorful chicken with green chiles on the inside was disappointed with its counterpart. The rice was quite dry and the beans were meh. I did make tortilla chips, beans and salsa delights because the coconut margarita needed to dance with something. It's not everyday you can treat yourself but when you choose to with food, it should be delightful. Honestly, I should have gotten a one-hour reflexology treatment. And I'm not exaggerating, it's the same price and no calories or bloated tummy. High quality indicators Service was quite exceptional and responsive. Poor indicators A total of four bathroom stalls for the cantina and dining restaurant, which are not hygienic maintained Parking is a flubberguster Prices do not match quality and flavor of food

I recently revisited Miguel’s Cocina, and as always, it was a delightful experience. Nestled away on a side street, this restaurant is a hidden gem that you might miss if you're not paying attention. The atmosphere is lively and fun, with a charming back path leading you to the entrance. The food, as expected, was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed their Spanish rice and chips with salsa. I've been here several times, and the quality of the food has always been consistent. However, I did notice a slight decline in the service this time around. Our server was a bit laid-back, and we had to ask for drink refills. She also didn't check on us as frequently as we would have liked or get us more chips and salsa. Despite the service hiccup, I still think a visit to Miguel’s is worth it. The food and atmosphere more than make up for any minor inconveniences. I always enjoy dining here on my trips to Coronado.
