Denny's — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

This review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion.

We went to this Denny's restaurant on Monday morning, 7/26/21.

FOOD: We had a few trouble to get the right tasting food but eventually we got the right food and we enjoyed it. here is what we ordered.... Chococana Pancakes = She brought the two stacks of pancakes.... I tried the first and it tasted like white onions... I tried the second stack and it tested like white onions too.... disgusting, unbearable onion taste. you dont want your sweet chocolaty pancake to taste like fried white onions. I called the Server and she replaced my Pancakes. the new batch of pancakes had the right flavor and they were actually very good. I love pancakes at Denny's. they were fluffy, spongy, big and perfectly made. Chocolate chips, fresh fruit and whipping cream are an amazing combination!! really enjoyed them.

Loaded Veggie Omelet = it was very good, my wife loved it and devoured it. It was really full of veggies and had a very nice mix of filling and the flavor was absolutely great.

Coffee = good coffee, smooth and balanced. like most of the times at Denny's. we like the coffee they serve in their restaurants.

STAFF: our server, JAN, I believe, was very nice and professional. she was kind and friendly along the entire service. When I told her that my pancakes tasted like onion she was very sorry and apologetic.... so she went ahead and took my pancake away. after 10 minutes she came back with 2 stacks of freshly made pancakes who tasted just amazing. She was very helping and comprehensive. Her attitude was absolutely 100% customer satisfaction oriented. thank you Jan. The manager welcomed us after 20 minutes and then made a strange comment "oh, my people are just coming in, so now we can sit you".... and me and my wife looked at each other like.... why did they open if they do not have enough Staff. But since it was a heartily welcome we just did not say anything.

PLACE: the place is outdated and has old furniture. never been remodeled I guess. The biggest problem (reason for the 3 stars) was the horrible smell of Sewage/sewer that was all over the place. at the very beginning we thought it was just next to the restrooms but then we sat down at the other end of the restaurant we realized the overwhelming smell was still there. We wanted to leave but we hadn't had any food from the afternoon before, so too hungry! in some spots they had water leaking form the ceiling and in some areas, like where we were sitting, the floor was dirty and not mopped.

PRICE: I little bit more expensive than most of the Denny's, but still fairly priced.

CONCLUSION: I hope the next time I'm back in that Denny's the smell is gone.... I loved their service...

This is a fantastic Denny's location.

The staff are all very friendly, kind, and helpful. From the managers, to the wait staff, to even the nice busser.

So far my aunt and I have visited 3 times, and all 3 times have been really nice and enjoyable. Shawn, Jonalie and Allison were the 3 waiters who took care of us, and all 3 were an absolute joy. We always wanted to tip because the service was so good and they were so lovely to be around. They all were very helpful, and would take things back to make them more crispy or make requested adjustments if asked without any complaint. They were very quick and would check in every so often to make sure we were happy and set. They're great!

I like to get the double berry banana grand slam, and it's always very tasty. My aunt likes to get hot chocolate every time, and this time she got a value slam. She seemed to enjoy it all, too.

The manager, Oscar I believe, helped us with their rewards mobile app and he actually sat down and explained to my Aunt how it all worked. He was so kind, warm, and patient. We really appreciated him taking the time to help her with that.

The music in the establishment is always present, but faint in the background. It's very nice and relaxing.

We were so busy eating this last time that I forgot to take pictures of the main course, so here's a picture of the very tasty dessert we got. We ordered it as a reward for signing up with their rewards service. I was expecting a tiny little thing, and was astounded when that big old yummy thing came out. It's an apple crisp dish with ice cream in the center. Suuuuuper good.

We will definitely be coming back. Probably will become proper regulars, honestly. :)

The best service I've ever received including my food done correctly.this was the first time..ty...A BIG SHOUT OUT TO MY SERVE" IAN AMAYA" YOUR SO AWESOME N POLITE AT YOUR JOB AS A SERVER. ITS GREAT TO SEE SUCH POLITENESS N CONCERN THAT WE WERE WELL TAKEN CARE OF BY CHECKING ON OUR TABLE MORE THAN ONCE TO SEE IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING. MOST ARE USUALLY ON THEIR PHONES OR LAUGHING N GIGGLING N NOT THINKING ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS.NOT US WE HAD GREAT SERVICE ...EVERY CUSTOMER I SAW WAS TREATED WITH RESPECT AND POLITENESS....WE GOT AMAZING SERVICE..GREAT JOB..KEEP UP THAT POLITENESS" IAN" N GREAT SMILE TOO .. AND TO ALL THE STAFF...U ALL SMILED AND GREETED US AS SOON AS WE CAME IN THATS A FIRST FOR ME AT OTHER PLACES IT SEEMS THEY ARE SO READY TO JUST LEAVE OR TIRED N ITS LIKE WHERE DO U WANNA SIT TYPE. . "WE GOT A BIG WELCOME TO DENNY'S"... EVERY CUSTOMER EVEN IF WASNT YOUR JOB OR TURN WAS GREETED THE SAME N WITH ALL SMILES. ....
