Mikey's Pizza is named after one of the owner's, Mikey. How much more local can you get. This is a husband and wife run operation and they do a great job. The space is tiny and located directly across the street from the ice skating rink and skating park. It's a little off the normal restaurant path, so you do need to know where to find it. The charm of this location is what makes it such a local favorite. You can run over here during the crazy lunch hour and most likely still find parking. And if you're busy, they DELIVER and they have more than just pizza. The only businesses that deliver in our town are the pizza places and Mikey's also has a list of salads and sandwiches. While I don't nearly eat enough salads, I appreciate theirs as they are more than just lettuce. They are generous with the toppings, veggies, meat, or cheese. Also I like asking for ranch plus gorgonzola as it makes the perfect dressing. For pizza, my hands-down favorite is the Mushroom Man. . . with sausage. The mushroom man is technically a vegetarian pizza and is excellent without meat. For those of you that still prefer a little meat on their pizza, add the sausage and for me, it turns into the perfect combo of toppings. I will admit that one day, after a long day of work (and starving) that Mary (the other owner) ended up helping me order a pizza to be delivered to my home. It saved me. From that night on, I have declared the Mushroom Man as my favorite pie. This is a great place to pick up a pizza, slice, or try one of their hot sandwich selections. Or, even better,...
Read moreThis is based on service only--can't rate the food because it was never delivered. They took our order, took our money, and then we waited an hour for them to tell us they didn't deliver to our location. When I ordered I had a lengthy conversation with person on phone about exact street name (because two streets have same name in town) and provided them with the address, including zip code. Wasn't alerted to an issue until driver called from other location indicating they had arrived, and we determined they were at wrong address. Driver said they had a few more pizzas to deliver, and they'd "get there when they get there." However, they returned to the restaurant, called back and put the owner on the phone, who let us know they did not deliver to our location and this was our problem (even though I had said 'Road' and NOT 'Avenue' 10x during ordering), and if we wanted our food we could come pick it up. As that was not an option for us, I asked for a refund, to which he replied 'Fine' and hung up on me. Could have been handled so many other ways, but the rudeness and unbothered attitude ensures we won't give them a second chance when in CB, and will advise others to...
Read moreIn Crested Butte for a week and only found Mikey's the last day! We had resorted to buying and cooking our own food because it was absurdly expensive to eat in town. THEN - we found this place!! We were riding bikes and each just got one piece of pizza - 4.00 each - which is what we pay in Maryland. Received a piece of pizza twice the size of a regular pizza and the crust - OH MY GOODNESS!! Thin, crust - delicious! I finished my pizza first and begged my husband for half of the crust left from his. When that sports center is finished - Mikey's better be ready - because their business will explode!! Blessings to you at Miky'sfor keeping the true soul of good pizza and food - good business at a reasonable price. Crested Butte touts itself as a very liberal, anti big business - yea, yea, the small guy - and then demolishes the wallets of those that try to get a meal there. Mickey's ...they keep it real - they are what Crested Butte was supposed to be before their liberal agenda meant capitalism and they bought their Lexis! I have to come back someday only to see Micky's - bless you - you are the salt of the earth and what makes this...
