Very cool museum with a plethora of historical items from the mining days all the way through the early ski and mountain bike days basically telling the tale of how crusty butt became what you see today. We spent a few hours walking around town and this was by far the gem for me. The lady working the desk was very nice and was able to provide information upon request. They had a sign up for Elk Avenue History Walk on Tuesday and Thursday from 10-1130 am where you walk around the Main Street and learn more historical facts about the town and the buildings if you’re looking for something else informative to do...

Such a variety of things to admire from the past. Books, biographies, photos, nick-nacks, memorabilia, and so on. The woman their was extremely friendly and helpful. Cost $5 to do the entire museum. There is also a store within that offers a lot of cute items. I was able to get a few perfect gifts and the perfect ornament there. Overall, I am happy I went. The only thing that disappointed me was that a deck of cards decorated with a retro Creste Brutte display cost $9.99. Kind of blew my mind because everything else seemed...

It's a small place in the center of town. It has a very fully stocked store connected to it. What's nice about a boutique museum, it focuses purely on where you are at at the moment. From early mining days to recently reopening and building the ski hill. Doesn't take a lot of time to go through and get the full flavor of the Crested Butte area. You can tell the people that put it together had a great deal of pride in their town. It looks like it will be a fun place to...

Countless hours were spent painstakingly creating a miniature representing the entire town of Crested Butte as it appeared in the 1920s. They even made a miniature of the town's one of a kind two story outhouse. There are moving miniatures as well. If you bring quarters, you can watch them go. One of them is puffing smoke while going.

A very cool, and funky museum. Never seen one based in an old hardware store, it was quite interesting really. Just to see the evolution of products and such. Liked all the photos like everything. It was really cool. The curator was awesome.
