Extremely comfortable and warmly welcomed B&B in an outstanding convenient location; less than a 10-minute walk from the downtown area that thrives with restaurants, coffee and local shops, and beautifully surrounded by the mountain scenery. Chris, the owner, is an incredible host making our stay relaxed with a home-like feel. Chris' 5p beer tasting is an added touch to our late afternoon arrival or after a long day of hiking at nearby trails all around and within just a few minute drive from the B&B. Chris had a lot of great recommendations for restaurants, hiking and biking. And what a great way to sit around together out back and just get to know Chris and the other visiting guests. Additionally, Chris prepared daily gourmet breakfasts and served in a true chef's double-breasted jacket--an absolutely excellent start to our mornings at the Purple Mountain B&B. Of note: they were VERY deliberate ensuring health and safety of guests as a result of COVID and ensured common areas were frequently cleaned and breakfast served over staggered times so guests had space and time to still be able to enjoy the meal and each other social distancing. We selected the Whetstone Suite and thoroughly enjoyed watching the stars on the balcony that is a perk for this room. This is definitely a favorite for a future...
Read moreI an so happy we stayed here!! Besides the convenient location, the house was charming and so cozy. We had a large balcony, and the bed/sheets were super comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave on the second floor which we made use of. The hot chocolate bar was a nice touch, and I always looked forward to it in the evening. The beer tasting was a great way to get to know the other guests and owner! We also enjoyed several bike rides thanks to the B&B bikes. Breakfast was amazing every morning, and Chris was able to accommodate my gluten-free diet seamlessly. He was also helpful by recommending hikes or specific paths to take on said hikes, as well as the best spots to eat in town! This made our trip so easy and enjoyable. Chris was an all-around amazing host, he was friendly, thoughtful, professional, and knowledgeable. We would love to...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here recently and loved it. There were a few unexpected (and pleasant) surprises: (1) we used the free bikes every day after hiking and sometimes in the morning. We biked all over town and on the gravel bike trail that heads to South Crested Butte; (2) the happy hour from 5-6 was really fun. The first night it was just the 2 of us with Chris, but on our second night there was larger group. Really nice way to get to know folks, and the backyard is lovely; (3) Chris is very knowledgeable about local hikes and gave us great recommendations (with very clear directions to the trailhead); (4) breakfast was better than anything we've had at other B&Bs. Very thoughtful in terms of healthfulness and...
