Mountain Earth Organic Grocer — Local services in Crested Butte

I have shopped at big organic food stores since the early 90's and Mountain Earth has an EXCELLENT selection of everything, for the space they have! The quality is exceptional with their bulk items and bulk herbs and spices. I like the fact that they recycle cardboard, etc...and instead of throwing out vegetables that don't sell, they make the best soups ever that warm your soul on a cold winter day. The homemade muffins and other goodies they offer are delicious! The fresh organic produce is wonderful to have in a mountain town. Since chocolate is so important, you will be pleased with the choices. One can tell that what they have chosen to carry in the supplement section is carefully thought out, since they do not have a lot of space. The owners are hard workers and very conscientious. I’ve been twice since I have been on vacation here in Crested Butte. The selection is great. However, the people behind the counter are so terribly rude. Today the lady greeted everyone that came to the counter nice big smile. My turn, she rudely asked,” paying with card?” No hello. Just super curt. This is the second time in 4 days I have been there to buy supplements etc. and that was the absolute LAST time.
