If you're a sushi lover visiting Crested Butte, Yukihana is an absolute must-visit. It’s so good that we found ourselves back there three times in one week! This charming spot combines delicious, fresh sushi with friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a top choice for any meal. Located in a beautifully restored historical building, Yukihana's ambiance is cozy yet lively, with an intimate vibe that makes you feel right at home. The service is always friendly, quick, and knowledgeable, and the staff truly enhances the experience. Chef Paul is a standout—his focus on sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients is evident in every dish. He’s incredibly welcoming and genuinely passionate about his craft, which makes the dining experience feel extra special. One of the highlights of dining at Yukihana was definitely our server William, who adds an extra layer of fun to the meal. Whether he’s recommending a new sake or sharing the story behind a particular fresh catch, his enthusiasm for the menu is contagious. He truly makes the whole experience even more enjoyable, helping you discover new flavors and dive deeper into the world of sushi. The entire team at Yukihana is passionate about what they do, and it shows in every detail, from the perfectly prepared rolls to the expertly curated drinks. We couldn't recommend this place enough— Yukihana is a sushi gem you don't...

Wish I had a chance to review the food but the service was horrible. I've been everywhere in CB, have lived here for years, and I've never had such a terrible experience.

We walk in (party of 2) a bit before 8pm on a slow Wednesday. We are greeted then continue to stand and wait for someone to seat us, for 10 more minutes, despite the waiters just talking to each other in front of us and tables being ready and clean. We just awkwardly continue standing while the staff are directly in front of us but ignore us.

Once we were seated, we were overlooked and ignored for another 10 minutes. If this was Izakaya den we would have been kindly sat, ordered our food, and already received drinks and first course.

Another couple was sat after us and our waiter proceeded to serve them before us. We decided to just get up and go to Izakaya den. As I write this, the we were sat and received our food and drink promptly.

Wish I could support a new local business but terrible service out the gate has put a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately I don't recommend, go...

We had an absolutely lovely experience at Yukihana. From the moment we arrived for our reservation at the sushi bar, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated. The ambiance struck a perfect balance between relaxed CB casual and elevated — ideal for a celebratory night out.

Service was truly immaculate, some of the best we’ve experienced in the valley. Will took excellent care of us throughout the evening, offering thoughtful guidance on both beverages and dinner selections. His knowledge and attentiveness elevated the experience, helping craft our dinner experience and relieving us from decision paralysis.

As for the food — every dish was a standout. The fish was incredibly fresh, and each piece of sushi was expertly prepared and presented. You can tell there's a deep respect for quality ingredients and technique here, with a creative touch that keeps things exciting. Thankful for Chef Paul and Chef Shawn for a delicious evening and their humble, graceful hospitality.

Yukihana is a true gem in CB. We’re already planning...

This was the most incredible dining experience I may have ever had. The food was incredible - unique and seasonal - while also being such high quality and so fresh. The flavor was truly unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back for more of what this amazing restaurant has to offer. The waiting staff and Chef Paul made this such a sweet experience for us. It was the first day of our honeymoon and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. They also made the dinner feel so special with a unique plate of fresh fish for us and a glass of Prosecco to top it off to celebrate. We are in awe.

This was an amazing experience as first time visitors to Crested Butte! The place is a small hole in the wall, but a true treasure. The gentleman that served us was poised and incredibly helpful in answering all of our questions. He even brought out a certificate of authenticity to show us when discussing the quality of the Waygu Yukihana uses. The food was fantastic, and the sake did not disappoint. We had the Hamachi Jalapeño (picture attached) and it was fantastic. They also had homemade wasabi that we hadn’t had anywhere else. Would recommend to anyone!

Overall a solid sushi restaurant, definitely cater to a little bit more high-end tastes and you can tell that when you walk in. They a boast and pride themselves in having fresh fish, which is obviously hard to do in a mountain town. I do think the fish was fresh and overall the maki that we had was pretty good. Good customer service, as the staff will help you identify things that will suit you. I've had a lot of great sushi in my life, so hard to say best-ever, but great for in the middle of Colorado! I would recommend visiting here.
