Before I begin let me state for record as usual because of dietary restrictions I am VERY particular about my food flavor, presentation, preparation, temp etc having said this I had The Green Chile Burger Cooked Medium "Rare" I recieved a Medium "Well" which to the layperson may seem the same thing it is NOT but thankfully the kind waiter was able to prep me a new one that was cooked great temp wise brown outter Pink inner moist and beautiful However I was not overly thrilled by the flavor profile of the Green Chile Here is where my snobbery comes out, I am of the ideal that if is a medium to high price restaurant I would like Chile that maybe was prepared with fresh Roasted green Chile perhaps locally sourced but the peppers were most likely from a can which if done right can be disguised, but never the less I digress the taste of Cumin was over bearing which implies that perhaps the normal clientele is of the opinion that cumin flavor equals Mexican ( IT DOES NOT), The Seasoning perhaps overpowered what may or may not have been a flavorful burger, we also ordered the stirfry the garlic honey sauce used was not bad however the cultural appropriations reared their ugly head again in the form of CHOW MEIN Noodles as a garnish again Chow mein noodles does not mean ASIAN Or Oriental, Chow Mein and stir fry are 2 different entrees but again I Digress The Waitstaff and host were friendly, The Environment is a beautiful Casino full of helpful and polite staff perhaps your taste varies from my own and if you have enough play for a free meal is...
Read moreWhen looking up breakfast places this one didnt show up on google at all. Luckily i remembered seeing a breakfast menu there at one point so i decided we'd go see if they were open. Come to find out they were not only open but a gem hidden away.
Chicken fried steak and eggs is one of my favorite things to eat. And this place nailed it do you know why? Let me tell you it was fresh and tender. Most places up here serve frozen ckn fried steaks and it kills me especially for the price. Not Lombard they serve fresh and you can taste it. Next is my over easy eggs most dont get this right but guess what Lombard did it again they got 2 things right on my plate. Next i need to compliment the fact that they had marbled rye for toast this was a great surprise. Now that ive complimented 3 of the 4 things on my plate i do have some constructive criticism. Cook your hash brown's longer they didnt have any crisp to them and maybe just a little bigger portion of taters as well. Lastly all your prices were amazing except one. 6$ for a small glass of juice that is advertised as large come on now yall can do better.
I love this place and it beats out every breakfast place in cripple creek, Victor, Florissant, divide, and your definitely in the running of favorite breakfast in our area.
Hope the kitchen staff got their 15$ tip i left yall deserved it an more. Ill...
Read moreWhat’s going on at Lombard’s? We used to love coming in for salad and potato bar but the salad bar is garbage now. We shouldn’t need to call ahead to ask the condition of the lettuce but that’s where we’re at… or where we were at when we were still eating there.
The iceberg mix is not edible. Go ahead and look now. It’s likely freshly refilled with new wet, limp… stuff. It looks like it’s gotten too cold and the leaves are damaged. The mixed greens are always soft but at least they don’t look spoiled. Frankly, it’s insulting as a paying customer, to watch someone from the kitchen come out to inspect the salad bar and then walk away satisfied as if he would eat that himself.
Kevin, Jim and Kat used to go out of their way to make sure everyone felt taken care of while (most, but not all of) the current staff give the impression that they’re there to serve food. That’s fine, especially since you’re in the business of serving food. But it’s not what we came to love about “salad and potatoes.” And now that a decent salad is...
