I only give 2 stars to service for Abraham who was a lovely server overall; however, to host stand and valet, just 0.
Before the detailed nightmare below - the food price was non-sensical when you add on top of the employee treatment to customers. The food is subpar. I could deal with the food if the employees were professional.
I attempted to make a reservation early morning and ofc only walk-ins which is 100% understandable as I work in the service industry and just gave it a shot.
My friend arrives to put her name on the waitlist at 7pm and is told it will be 1hour and 30min. All good as I knew this to be a possibility on a Friday night.
We wait for a text like she was told and nothing, so we walk in after an Hour & 50min (past quoted time) and host was very rude to my friend and barely acknowledged her and said that it will be an extra hour. I walked up and said, “ok, please send us a message this time to alert us” and she barely acknowledged me.
Another 2 HOURS (on top of the 1hour and 50min previously) we walk in asking about our res. And She does NOT look at us, apologize for her rudeness earlier, and looks at her iPad and tells her hostess to seat us outside right away. (As if we are not in front of her). Mind you there were no parties outside anymore. The crowd was done and she intentionally did not reach out to us and I wouldn’t know what the atmosphere was like inside to review as she didn’t even offer where we would like to sit as we had to consistently check on her and there were open spots then. (Total wait time without a text or acknowledgment was 3hours and 50min). We finally got a text 5min AFTER being seated outside on the patio.
This was the lead hostess who worked last night and one of our friends had to leave early and by then our appetite was collectively low, so we only ordered the fiesta fajita entree + queso flamedo with water which was fine, but we came to SPEND money, but this experience was ruined.
Our server, Abraham was excellent.
Valet tried to hide my keys from behind his back as if to not give me my keys if I did not pay cash… “all I asked was if he accepted Apple Pay” which wasn’t an issue as I handed a $10 bill when he seemed like keeping my keys if not and I was ready to leave after a close to 4 hour wait. Exhausted. Food was fine, but honestly this experience was just ridiculous.
Your lead host last night needs training on how to accommodate guests properly, because that was just unacceptable; this made my company and I feel like we were not welcome there, which led us to not add more to our tab which we intended for a friends’ birthday celebration and long work week.
By then we had our drinks elsewhere and felt shunned for absolutely no reason.
The worst experience...
Read moreWe loved this restaurant! As I walked up, I realized we were underdressed. We had just come from working the FanExpo all day (the AC broke, so you can imagine). There were a lot of people waiting outside so I was worried we would not get a table. The hostesses were dressed very nice and said it could be an hour. We were exhausted and didn't want to leave. There was a small bench inside the foyer, right next to the bar. My two daughters and hubby sat on the bench while I ordered drinks at the bar. The bartender was extremely busy so I think he got to me after 10 minutes. I'm an ex-bartender so I have no complaints about the wait. He gets me two frozen margaritas which were potent, in a good way! So good! About a minute later a hostess says pur table is ready. I think it was our shabby clothes and the fact we were right up front that they moved us to the front of the waitlist, eh, I'll take it. The restaurant is dimly lit, I loved it. Perfect place to have a date if you can get a booth. They had two, I'm not sure what to call them, "expediters" maybe... They just made sure the food looked good, drinks were being filled, etc. They did a great job, I never saw them standing still and they were dressed nicely. Now we love chips, salsa and queso and theirs was very good but they only bring small bowls of chips, they were gone within three seconds as we were starving and they were good. That would be my only complaint, not enough chips. We ordered the queso and that was very good. We went on and ordered before we were done with our appetizer, which is unusual for us, as we were expecting a long wait on food. Boy were we wrong. We shared the wagyu beef fajitas for two among the four of us. Our daughters typically don't eat that much and we figured it would be fine. These fajitas were the best we've ever had... Melted in your mouth, no salt needed, delicious! So naturally the girls suddenly eat like adults and the fahitas were gone in about 10 minutes. Oh it was so good. The flour tortillas were also good. We got a dessert to split but don't remember what it was, it was good though. We paid I think $80 before tip (this does not include the two margs I got at the bar but does include the two margs and two sodas we got at the table). Great experience there and I can't wait to go back without out kids for a...
Read moreI’m here from Michigan visiting my kids & my son chose this restaurant for us to try. We were seated and drinks were brought right away. Our server Felipe was very attentive and gave suggestions on what to get. We started with a queso blanco. It was such a lovely presentation with the jalapeño pepper in the middle of the bowl. It was just the right consistency and flavor was perfect. The tortilla chips were fresh and just right for dipping. The chip bowls were being replaced before we finished them and they brought 3 bowls at a time-enough for the entire table. Our meals were served quicker than I had anticipated. Very impressed with not only the presentation of the food on the plate, but the amount of food on it. I got the steak quesadillas for my meal-technically they are on the appetizer menu. They completely satisfied my fajita & quesadilla craving simultaneously. My son got the waygu steak fajita. This was seriously mind blowing steak. It teased your nostrils with the smell of fresh beef and spices. The steam and sizzle as our server poured the butter on the steak! But what really got me was the flavor! EVERY SINGLE CHEW burst with flavor! Read that again!!! The other 5 of us at the table were coveting his steak, unabashedly!! Miss Picky-my daughter-got the cheeseburger and fries. She had no complaints on flavor and the burger was huge!!! My acquired daughter got a taco platter. The taco was bursting with ingredients. The rice was seasoned perfectly, but generously proportioned on the plate to keep the taco standing on the plate! Every one of us was very happy with our meals. Server kept our drinks full and the table cleared. The interior was tastefully decorated-I personally liked the fireplace wall with the cowboy hats hung around it. The outside dining area was lovely as well with an added bonus of patio heaters to keep the diners comfortable. Pricewise, all the offerings are reasonable and fairly priced for the amount of food that you get, the flavor and the attentiveness of the staff. This is definitely affordable!
las Palmas offered a well rounded experience! I’m very impressed with the restaurant, the...
