I worked at this Pei Wei for only 1 week and 3 days. I quit on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 due to not being able to tolerate the female manager any longer. That was the very first time I worked at a restaurant. She was always on my back about almost everything. I was trying my best to move as quick as I could and just do my best at my job, but she always had something to say and it was very irritating. The young lady who was training me was doing a very good job and I never had a problem with her or anyone else. On Wednesday, a customer asked me if I could get him a little cup of chili paste so I said yes. I was carrying a tray in my hand and just sat it down and grabbed a little cup to put the chili paste in. Right when I was about to grab the bottle of chili paste to pour it she rushed over to snatch it before I could grab it and do it herself. She said to me "you need to have more urgency when customers are asking for chili paste". She said that to me in front of the customer and I didn't understand why she would even say that to me when she clearly saw me about to take care of what the customer needed. That was the last straw for me and it took everything in me to not set her straight and embarrass her. Let me mention that while I was working there one day this customer called me over and told me that his meat in his food was raw. I looked at it and it was red on the inside. As you can tell sometimes moving too quick to get things done will result in something being messed up. In that case that customer almost ate some raw meat that she cooked too quick. She is very disrespectful, takes everything as a joke, and has a bad attitude. After I left, her and the other managers had a small meeting and she told them that I quit because I couldn't handle the job, but that wasn't the reason. I quit because I couldn't handle her and the general manager wasn't even doing anything about it. After I quit me and my sister confronted her about what happened and she was acting different (trying to be nice and acting as if she was right) and even my sister knew she was lying. I'm so happy I left that job and I recommend everyone who eats there to check their meat...
Read moreAfter my visit to this location today I am even more convinced that Pei Wei is currently in a death spiral... The food has been trending downward for some time and apparently bringing this to their attention will not result in it being solved w current management/company culture. This is not a single store issue as it's noticeable in every location I've visited in recent history. Pei Wei is simply not what it once was. When they first compared themselves to Panda Express, I really couldn't understand why; Pei Wei had always been in another class. That is no longer the case. In fact, I will go as far to say that the food is consistently fresher tasting at Panda these days. Things that should be crispy are crispy and things that should be soft are soft, nothing is mushy or soggy w sauce... -at what is essentially a buffet. Add to that the fact that its less expensive and I can't believe it's come to this, but I may be done w Pei Wei.
Today's Visit: Line not being managed properly. Cashier did not ask what size entree or drink I wanted, charged me the more expensive price for each. Large portion plate, small (or less) portion meat. Meat tough, overcooked. Vegetables (except peas) overcooked and slimy/mushy w sauce, particularly onions/spinach Too much sauce, yet meat...
Read moreDO NOT get delivery from here. I ordered my food 5 hours ahead of time for a friend event gathering (2pm for a 7pm delivery.) I then did a follow up call around 630 since the 'track your delivery' wasn't working. Spent a ton of time on hold, and once where it sounded like they answered the phone just to set it on the table and walk away.
I gave her my name and she said yep it will be there.
7pm rolls around, I haven't received a call, update, etc. And no food. 715p. Nothing. So I call, take time on hold. Turns out their 3rd party delivery keeps cancelling on them, the food hasn't left, it has been sitting long enough that they need to remake it, etc. But I wasn't called at all about this, it took me calling them to find out why my order I put in 5 hours ahead of time was now 30 minutes late.
They offered to refund the order. I was going to just pick it up but couldn't leave my event. Ended up canceling it completely and ordering elsewhere because she couldn't guarantee they'd find a driver anytime soon.
Still got charged $50. They are saying it will take 5 days to show up....
