Overall, it felt like the bartender didn't want people there. My girlfriend and I were celebrating her birthday and wanted to try a new speakeasy. The process of checking in, getting the code, and finding the room was fun and added to what I hoped the experience would entail. When we got to the room, we were accosted with a weird techno version of the electric slide playing much louder than it needed to be for such an intimate space. I was hoping for jazz or ambient background noise at a whisper and what I got was blaring rave music in a room with no dance floor. The room size and lighting were on par with other premium lounges we’ve been to but the biggest turn off, at the time, was the loud music. I’d estimate the room could hold approximately 16 people; 12 comfortably. There were no other guests when we arrived and we almost questioned if we went to the wrong room. We struggled to hear the bartender over the music but realized his first words to us were, “It’s a set menu.” It seemed slightly off-putting but I can understand that he might have been trying to prevent people from ordering drinks not on the menu. At most places we’ve been in the past it seemed customary for the bartender to greet people first or introduce themselves; at minimum, offer water while patrons decide what they want. With an empty room, I thought it would have been nice if he explained the taste profiles of the six drinks on the menu. We both ordered the “Gion” and were less than pleased with the drink. The drink was finished using a cocktail smoker kit, which was not listed in the online description. I’m not sure if the wrong type of wood was used or if it was burned too long, but it left a pungent overpowering aftertaste. Smoke is generally meant to enhance a drink and add to the complexity; this made it much worse. As other guests showed up, they seemed to experience the same confusion of deciding if they should sit and wait for service or walk up to the bartender. The volume of the music remained constantly obnoxious, as did the contrasting playlist of hip-hop meets techno. Two couples and a group of four friends walked in after we had our drinks. Not wanting to be the last two people in the room, I watched six people leave before deciding to follow suit. Of those who left, including us, no one went back for a second round of drinks. Unfortunately, after the experience I had, I can’t refer any friends and family here. I suggest they add a couple of beer & wine choices for individuals who can’t find anything on the menu they want to drink. Maybe the bartender was having a bad day but he didn’t facilitate a pleasant experience. Hopefully this helps someone make an...
Read moreThis was the craziest experience. We signed a contract with this facility in March 2023 for an event in August. We did not hear from them again until a couple days before, which we then gave a credit card over the phone. Then 30 minutes before our event they called me to ask if we were still having out event since food was being delivered. I said yes, we have a contract. They said they did not receive payment so just assumed we were not coming. No call, no email, no nothing to even follow up on our contract. When I asked why they didn't reach out at any point, they simply said "we are too busy to do any follow ups at all". I am an event planner, this is the most Ludacris thing I ever heard, and absolutely NO way to run an event venue. To anyone wanting to do an event with...
Read moreWe love trying new speakeasies around town. We were in the area so we thought we would go check it out. The downstairs bar is really nice and it was easy to get the code for the room upstairs. However, the bartender upstairs was really rude. I was telling him the type of drinks I like and he recommended one but it wasn’t good so I asked if I could swap it out. He got an instant attitude and was making my drink slamming stuff around. And pretty sure he made the second drink bad on purpose. We ended up paying for the drinks and leaving. Left the whole drink on the table. 🤷🏽♀️ Was excited to take my friends here but with so many options in Dallas, def will take them to...
