I celebrated my birthday here on September 27. The place is beautiful and I was excited, but the staff ruined the experience with their rude and unprofessional behavior.
I prepaid weeks in advance for an 8-seater and a 4-seater table. When I arrived, the staff tried to combine my reservation with my brother’s last-minute VIP table upgrade and demanded $1,000 minimum spend plus gratuity, even though I had receipts showing what I already paid. After going back and forth, they finally corrected it, but the process was stressful and handled with attitude instead of courtesy.
Service was also terrible. I ordered a hookah that came without enough mouthpieces, and our waitress seemed annoyed the entire night. Even after spending well over $600–$800, nothing about the service felt VIP or welcoming.
That being said, I truly enjoyed my night and had a wonderful time celebrating with my family and friends — but it was in spite of the staff, not because of them. Hide & Seek is a beautiful spot, but the service needs serious improvement.
Add to add insult to injury at 9 PM I guess that was the time that I was supposed to leave the club or leave the VIP section whichever I was unaware of because this was my first time here instead of the waitresses/whoever they were to come in politely and ask us to leave. They all boisterous mean and loud It’s time to go. The next person is coming in. I did not even know that the booth was rented, but it’s a way that you would do anything. I understand the business, but why is everybody’s so angry? I’m not sure why they were so angry when I spent a lot of money in there it was my birthday. I just came to enjoy my time. I’m not sure what was going on behind the scenes. All I know is what I paid for for my birthday. The service could’ve been better every time I think about it It makes me upset. I should’ve had more than one waitress. I only had one little waitress with the attitude. I should’ve got more attachments for the Hookah I should’ve had them clean my table, which they were not even one of my friends came in very upset because with all the money I was spending the table steel was not cleaned off. It was just a lot. The vibe was nice, but the service...
Read moreI attended the Auntie’s and Uncle’s Only event (30+ crowd). Overall, it was a cool experience. The bar is located just outside of downtown Dallas on a one-way street. Parking wasn’t too bad. If you arrive early, you can snag a metered street spot. Matters are free after 6pm. Otherwise, valet and a paid lot are available right next to the bar.
The entrance was a bit of a surprise. There’s a very steep flight of stairs leading up to the actual bar, so keep that in mind if accessibility is a concern.
Inside, the atmosphere is cute and Instagram-friendly, with trendy decor that makes for great photo ops. My friends and I had reserved a few tables. Our server was kind, but she went MIA often, and we waited quite a while before getting to place our orders.
They have a menu with lists of signature cocktails starting at $15. They do have a full bar for the most part. There’s a small food menu with light bites and a few entrée options that range from $12-$30. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad, which was pretty good. Most of my group had the catfish and seemed to enjoy it. There is an automatic 20% gratuity and a 3% service charge added to all checks.
The music was on point, with a great selection that kept the vibe lively. That said, there’s not a lot of room for dancing. As the night went on, it got super packed. It’s best to reserve a table maybe a week or two in advance. There is a waiting list for walk ins though. Part of the themed night is to mix and mingle with people outside of your party, which I...
Read moreI visited this establishment last night around 9pm by way of recommendation from a Dallas local. I gave them a 3 overall because it seemed a bit hectic. The security guards on the lower level were welcoming and extremely helpful. I wish I could say the same for upstairs. No one greeted me. I was confused as to where to sit and order a hookah (which was the only thing I went there for). I finally found a seat at the bar. I waited at the bar for a while before I was finally able to get my order in. The hookah was $50. Okay… I’d understand it being $50 if I got a special shisha blend, a special candy or ice tip, or a fruit head, but I got regular hookah and below average service! When my hookah came out it smoked nicely, could’ve used a bit more water in the base. By the time I got my coals changed out my hookah was burnt so I got about 30 minutes of good smoking and 20 minutes of subpar smoking.
I would’ve also appreciated the bar tender asking if I’d like another round once my glass of champagne was nearly empty. Had she asked I would’ve spent. Oh and also giving me my change back… I believe the champagne was $14. I gave $20 and didn’t get any change back. I was going to leave it for tip anyway, but that money should’ve come back to me being that I never said keep the change.
Overall it seems like this establishment might have just opened and they’re still working out the kinks. But definitely consider offering service that matches...
