Surf Camp was a fun spot we found on the rooftop of a downtown Dallas building. I spotted the sign from the road one day and checked them out on Google, and the vibes and menu lined with many of my favorites so we decided to head over and check them out. Bottom line is this place was awesome and we will definitely be back!
Parking like anywhere down here was a pain, but for $11 we were able to park at a nearby lot and even pay on our phone for 6 hours. From there it was a 30 second walk to the door.
Surf Camp shares an entrance with another spot, and I saw too late that they offer valet parking for $7, or $4 less than I paid for the self parking lol.
This spot is on the roof, 3 stories up in the air. It’s open air, which is probably its biggest downside, but luckily for us it was a cool day with weather in the mid 70’s with a breeze. Obviously the time that you go to an outdoor spot is going to play a huge role in the experience you have: but we got lucky.
Surf Camp is small, I couldn’t imagine it holds more than 100 or so. It’s part dive bar, part tiki bar, and part poolside lounge. They even have an inflatable kiddie pool, which I assume Instagram influencers can hop in with a swimsuit, but darn it we left ours at home lol.
The menu is Asian fusion, and overall gave me Hawaii vibes, which is a good thing. Everything we ate was good, especially the chicken pieces. The drinks were fun, small but potent. I only tried two on this visit, but they were served quickly and the waitstaff was kind and consistent. We had a great experience here.
50% of the menu is drinks, so this is absolutely a spot to kick back a few cocktails with some friends and enjoy conversation overlooking the Dallas skyscrapers and sunset. We were actually in and out in less than 45 minutes, because it was just the two of us and we always want to get on with it, haha. This place was cool and we will be back.
PS - For the health conscious out there, many of these items can fit into a calorie conscious diet, so don’t let the fried chicken and French fries scare you, there is pretty much something for everyone here. Surf Camp is definitely...
Read moreThe CVV of this place is 555. I'm not referring to the number on the back of a credit card, I'm referring to the 5 stars I'm giving them for customer service (C), vibes (V), and view (V). It's a wonderful rooftop bar that has great crafted cocktails and a beautiful view of downtown Dallas. Get there as...
Read moreWhat a cool new spot! Great decor with deep house and chill beats in the background. You do have to use an app to order and pay, which is a little annoying, but it was easy to use since it connects to Apple Pay. The Rip Tide Sour was WILD!! Such a unique drink, never had anything like it. Y’all...
