The place was empty the host asked us if we had a reservation we told her we did not. I asked her if we needed one and she said “not really”. Some how found our online reservation portal (odd). She proceeded to taking us to table near the kitchen and then accidentally broke a glass all over my partner and I clothing. I reached out to my partner asking her if she was okay, and although we told the host it was okay that it was an accident. She screamed at me and told me not to touch anything. Which I totally get she was nervous. The issue is that the glass was all over our clothing, no one asked if we were okay they simply rushed to clean the area. My partner and I stood up carefully and very awkwardly removed all the glass in our clothing. We tried to be understanding and patient so the host just moved us to another table to resume our dinner date. Our server open opened the conversation by “let’s move pass the glass brake what can I get you to drink?”. The manager came over some time later (we assume) and then brought us a plate of the days special cauliflower which was (odd). Given that he didn’t really ask us if we wanted it lol we stated that we appreciate the gesture but just the method in which they handle the situation was concerning and peculiar. We tried to enjoy our dinner but it was difficult giving that glass flew to other tables near proximity and it clearly visible. Also, no one cared to asked if we were okay. The place over all was fine but perhaps management needs to go over Texas laws and proceedings for this sort...
Read moreMe and a group of my friends were visiting Dallas and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Dallas’s downtown. When we came across The National Anthem restaurant. We decided to take a few pictures on the staircase located outside the doors of the restaurant for not even two minutes until We were completely disrespected and belittled by the owner of the establishment. Instead of being greeted by owner and Head chef Nick Badovinus we were instead immediately kicked off the property. Telling us that if we choose to take pictures on his property he would then have to charge us assuming we couldn’t pay to eat there. While also making passive aggressive comments about the back of our t-shirts as we walked away. Feeling disrespected and trying to be considerate of our female company. We chose not to go back and forth, but to just leave. Honestly it was very unsettling and made us all very uncomfortable. I think it’s sad that we were treated like this especially because we all were very impressed with the aesthetics of the restaurant and wanted to sit down and enjoy our visit. Unfortunately Mr. Badovinus had other plans. I hope that this is changed in the future because we all were very hurt about the situation and we definitely would not want anyone to have to experience...
Read moreFood was okay with moderate portions. but very very rude hostess that decided we should be punished for not wanting to sit at a table near the kitchen with all the action and noise. There were two booths available and she said we could not have either of them because “you have to request a booth when you make your reservation”. When we told her there was no place to request a booth online, she said she did not really mean that, but we could not have the booths she had reserved for customers that were coming later. We told her this made no sense and she said she was not going to let us sit at either of the vacant booths. Our waiter was nice and very efficient, and the ladies that cleared our dishes were charming. As far as Whitney the hostess, she is in the wrong position. She also passed us and would not even glance our way, or explain why people (same size groups) came in after us, and were escorted to seats after short waits. You just don’t treat customers with such disrespect. I have never written a bad review about anyone, but the incident with this hostess, Whitney, needs to be addressed. She was so hostile and disrespectful. This put a damper on our celebration. Our total wait time from arrival was...
