So I decided that today my coworker and I would check out Shawarma Press, because it looked interesting and new to us, and we were hungry. Saw on UberEats a deal for a BOGO, so we ordered that for pick-up.
Arrive at Shawarma Press, it’s nice, quiet, and clean as a whistle, with a decent smell of food. Now comes the mixed bag, the service… the woman at the register, upon asking about online pickup directs me down the line. That’s okay. Then comes the rest of the crew, most of whom look like they’re ALL unhappy to be there. Not a smile amongst them all to see a guy in a Safety shirt… and even less happy to be asked for the order… and I’m not one to be rifling through orders, my mama raised me not to touch what ain’t mine and to be polite. The girl I asked, took an annoyed approach at looking for my order for my coworker and I… well, as soon as I got my order from her, I said a friendly “hope you have a good rest of your day”, and it felt like nobody in there had any sense of customer service… we also weren’t given any sort of utensils… we had to hit up a nearby 7-11…
Now to the meat of things… the food! The Falafel Bites, while probably a little overcooked by a minute, were heavenly DELICIOUS still! My coworker and I scarfed those down post-haste! Then there’s the “Over Rice”…. It’s hard to rate it… delicious and not at the same exact time. The half-taziki half-salad and half-beef half-chicken with garlic and tandoori. I can honestly say, I don’t much care for the taziki, and it felt slathered on. The rest was a nice hot and spicy with the mild flavors of beef and chicken and their sauce. Digging in on the yellow rice was so gooooood! But I ain’t ordering the taziki again anytime soon.
If I ever get the chance to come back, I can only hope that it’ll be when the staff are feeling up to a modicum of basic customer service. And again, I ain’t ordering...
Read moreI cant seem to get away from Shwarma Press's consistent issues.
I took a break from Shwarma press after their other location severely underserved my wife and I on an order (with wraps no wider than 2 fingers - see my posts). But i decided to give them one more try... and that proved to be another mistake. Despite giving this (now franchise) multiple attempts, they consistently mess up orders.
My wife ordered a tandoori chicken wrap and I ordered a double chicken Mediterranean wrap - what was delivered was a chicken Mediterranean wrap and a double chicken Tandoori wrap. Unbelievable...
I paid $20+ just for the double chicken wrap and they couldn't even get the style correct on either of our sandwiches. Its upsetting and, honestly, a waste of my money.
I encourage you to consider Spitz, a local shwarma/kebab place that (after checking out, I kid you not, 12 shwarma places) is superior and as close to Lebanon/Jordanian/Israeli/Palestinian style shwarma as youll get. I wish this place were better, or consistent, or worth the money, or reliable. But until they get it together, i encourage you to...
Read moreOf the 3 times I’ve been here, my order was wrong twice. Missing sauce and key ingredients. When I check the receipt it’s correct so the kitchen just isn’t paying attention. Either that or the coding they use for modifications is not recognized the same by the person on the register and the people in the kitchen. The most recent order, today, I ordered a rice bowl with half salad (I confirmed lettuce would be part of that) and tandoori sauce, with tzatziki on the side. What I got was a bowl full of diced cucumber and tomatoes with tzatziki all over it and then a large tzatziki on the side. Just really disappointed because I wanted the rice and...
