Sushi Kozy – A Cozy, Perfectly Curated Omakase Experience in Dallas Sushi Kozy is a place that feels like Japanese kaiseki — a dining experience that is warm, intimate, and unhurried. From the moment you step in, the cozy interior and attentive service set the stage, but it’s in the food where Sushi Kozy truly shines. This was my second visit — the first time I sat at a table, this time I chose the sushi bar. Sitting at the table had felt like hosting a beautiful, relaxed dinner party with friends at home, but the sushi bar experience brought a whole new level of enjoyment. Listening to the chef explain each dish as it was placed in front of me made the omakase feel even more personal and immersive. If I could sum up this second visit in one sentence, it would be: “A more perfect version of perfection.” Here’s why: 1. Staying True to the Basics The foundation of any omakase is, of course, the sushi. At Sushi Kozy, the shari (rice) is light yet distinct, each grain perfectly defined, providing the ideal canvas for their seasonal, thoughtfully curated nigiri lineup. 2. A Flawless Flow Unlike many other omakase experiences, Sushi Kozy creates a beautiful narrative arc throughout the meal. It begins with a warm chawanmushi and small bites that awaken your palate, builds through the nigiri course, reaches its peak with the main dish, then gently lands with a hand roll and dessert that wrap up the entire experience gracefully. The progression is so seamless that it feels like a story you don’t want to end. 3. Attention to Detail Everything here feels intentional — the interior design, the service, the food. The space is inviting from the moment you enter. The staff anticipates needs I didn’t even know I had, tailoring every interaction to make sure the entire evening is perfect. And the food engages every sense — taste, smell, and sight — turning three hours of dining into three hours of pure happiness. I truly believe Sushi Kozy is on its way to becoming one of Dallas’s best restaurants. I can’t wait to see how it evolves as the seasons change — autumn at Sushi Kozy is already something I’m looking forward to. One more tip: share your drink preferences or mood with the staff — they’ll recommend a pairing that complements the meal beautifully.

If you miss Japan, make a reservation at Sushi Kozy. You can taste the love and thoughtfulness in every bite. They offer 19 high-quality courses for a very fair price of $185. Love the seasonal focus because getting to try new creations from talented chefs is a treat! I had reeallly high expectations because of the chefs and team behind Kozy, and they absolutely deeeelivered. The restaurant feels like Uchi’s fun younger sister who is rooted in tradition, yet not afraid to test boundaries. She’s effortlessly cute and loves to change her hair color with the seasons. The location is perfect and easy to get to if you work downtown, valet was available. If you’re a tired and sad auditor at KPMG, you can dry those busy season tears with some seriously good sushi. Do yourself a favor and skip the Ozempic the day you come bc you’ll want your full appetite. Trust me, you won’t leave hungry but also won’t feel uncomfortably full. We were there for about 3.5-4 hours, but I heard they were working on this. The future of Sushi Kozy is so bright. I can’t wait to come back and bring more friends. Also shoutout to Hunter for the amazing cocktails, we tried a few and loved them all. Go with the cocktail that has flavors you want to taste in your mouth. The “Coffee+” was hands down the best espresso martini I’ve ever had. Congratulations to the team on creating such a special experience!

We were so excited to try this new omakase that’s opened in Dallas! I was so impressed by how beautifully they designed the space. It’s so warm and inviting but also feels so light and airy. We were seated in the dining room and our server was so sweet. After explaining the menu, I was dyingggg to try the food. Everything was soooo delicious and really interesting! Their starters were so good but out of them all, the hotate… I dream of that bite 😩 the little sweet petal cup… I need 15 more right now. All the nigiri was amazing and the texture and flavors were perfect. Rice is where I get pickiest and it was perfectly seasoned! (don’t sleep on their ginger either) The land tasting was deliciousssss, the duck was cooked to PERFECTION. My friend really enjoyed her lobster (sea tasting) as well. All in all a great experience and we really appreciated all the attention to detail. The whole time our server was super helpful and very attentive! 18 course, gorgeous omakase for $185 (really 19 since dessert was like 2 courses), I would hiiighly recommend!! With other big names being in this area, I definitely think Kozy has made space for themselves and I would definitely recommend people coming to try them out!

The new star in Dallas! Delicious and filling Omakase which, in my opinion, is a bargain at $185. The custard soup comes out 1st and you are immediately certain the chefs are serious operators. The next 4 bite sized pieces are unique and exciting. You will wish you had 3 or 4 of each piece because they are so delicious. Next is the Nigiri selection and it is a tribute to the true Japanese art of treating the fish and rice in harmony such that you appreciate each piece as a unique masterpiece. No fussy toppings or over-vinegared rice (I am told the chefs tasted over 24 varieties of rice to arrive at the perfect compliment to the seafood). The result is a pleasure you will want to hug the waiter for bringing the dish and spark your desire to try the next piece. Next comes an impossible choice, land or sea. Land is a perfectly prepared duck breast with a cripy skin and a jus which will make you want to like the plate. Sea is a portion of lobster tail in a unique curry blend with Chantrelles which I secretly snuck a few bites from my wife and wished we could have both land and sea! The final savory dish is a shocking rock star! A fish taco unlike anything I have ever seen! Crispy seaweed, dressed fish and an intoxicating truffle aioli. Seriously? Who does this? Thank you chefs! As if this wasn't enough you get 2 desserts which are refreshing and decadent.

This place is a gem in Dallas dining! The chefs formerly from Cry Wolf and Uchi will dazzle your palate, the waiters will make you feel at ease, the environment will make you feel welcome and comfortable and the front of the house will greet you with a warm smile. I wish I could keep this place a secret! Enjoy...

From the moment we stepped into Kozy, we knew we were in for a special experience. The ambiance is serene and elegantly designed; even the plateware and cutlery carefully handpicked from Japan that sets the perfect tone for an intimate dining experience.

Each course in our omakase was a work of art, showcasing the chefs’ skill and dedication to an elevated dining experience in Japanese cuisine. Some of our favorite bites included the Hotate Tartelette with caviar, Wagyu Tartare Toast and the Toro Temaki with a nori shell and truffle aioli. All of the nigiri pieces also beautifully made with the perfect yakumi to complement the piece. My boyfriend I decided to try 1 “Land Tasting,” and 1 “Sea Tasting,” and we were so glad we did! Both dishes from the kitchen were amazing; we don’t know if we liked the Lobster with corn Thai curry and chanterelles more, or the perfectly crispy skin Duck with asparagus and fig. One thing that was for certain— great care was taken in sourcing high quality ingredients, and the seasonal selections were a delightful surprise.

Service was impeccable and attentive without being intrusive, allowing for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. The knowledge of the staff about the menu and their compassion for the food is what all food enthusiasts love to see when dining in a place of this caliber.

10/10 recommend Kozy being the next Omakase place to check out! We can’t wait to come back to try their next...
