We were a party of 7 with a reservation to be seated in a TV area so the guys could watch sports. After being seated & realizing the area provided too low of a table & low sitting seats, we asked to be moved to the back so we could have a better sitting for eating to be told the bar food menu was not offered in that area (10 steps away). This is the only restaurant option at JW Marriott, there were only 3 other tables of customers there & that rule seemed ridiculous. Then came our service (or complete lack thereof). We ordered an impossible burger, truffle fries, crab dip & duck flautas. It took 45 min to get just the burger & fries. However, it wasn't the right burger. So, we were left with sharing fries (no ketchup, because they didn't bring that until we were about to leave) until the flautas came 20 min later. Then, came the dip 20 min after that, with only 5 small peices of baguette bread (not enough for the dip & we were told we would get flat bread). We did order several drinks (over 20 total) & 3 other food items. The burger comes out 2hrs in at this point and was still incorrect (still no ketchup). Plates were piling up to where we had to take them to the bar to clear the table ourselves & the waitress only filled our waters once, after repeated requests. Nothing was offered after the horrible service. I've never experienced such horrible service. The next night, we attempted to call in an order (since, once again, this is the only option at the hotel) & was told they don't do carry out, what??? So, we went to the bar to order & asked for it to be to go. This took 45 minutes. The pizza was cold by the time we got it & the burger was wrong again & that dip, they stated extra bread was an upcharge & then told us they were out of it. Basically, the food would have been great had it been correct & didn't take forever to get, the dip needs more bread & the service is horrendous & the weird rules about what menu you can order from based on your table & the whole "no take out" mess was just nonsense.

We were staying at the JW Marriott in Dallas’ Arts District—a phenomenal hotel—and decided to try Montage, the in-house restaurant, for a nice dinner. With its sleek branding and top-floor location, we expected a polished dining experience. What we got was an overhyped, overpriced letdown. Let’s start with the good: the views are absolutely incredible. Sweeping skyline panoramas of Dallas gave the place a cinematic feel, and for a moment, we were optimistic. But sadly, that’s where the excitement stopped. I ordered the cornbread appetizer, and when I asked if it was spicy (since the menu mentioned jalapeños), I was assured it wasn’t. Spoiler alert: it was definitely spicy. As someone from the South, I know my cornbread, and let me tell you—cornbread should be sweet, not a jalapeño-infused assault on tradition. The butter that came with it was also strangely paired, leaving me confused about what they were going for. Beyond that, the main courses were just okay—nothing memorable, nothing crave-worthy. But the real issue was the service, which was painfully slow from start to finish. We waited far too long between every stage of the meal, with no real sense of urgency or attentiveness. To make matters worse, we were seated across from what felt like a live taping of The Real Housewives of Dallas—loud, chaotic, and full of drama, with no effort from the staff to manage the atmosphere. Between the noise and the delays, we were more exhausted than full by the time we left. Final verdict? Montage has a stunning location, but the experience doesn’t match the setting. From the spicy cornbread blunder to the leisurely service and sky-high prices, it’s just not worth it. There are much better dining options in Dallas—and next time, we’ll be seeking them out.

These are the names I want to recognize my entire evening
. JOEL,NIKI,BRITTANY,BRANDON, AND OWEN keep in mind this is my first time here and I go to a lot of fine dining restaurants and other restaurants around I have NEVER had an amazing experience from the BAR to the TABLE they all treated me with respect and smiles and recommendations that were beyond amazing they made me feel like I was apart of them and felt at home which is so rare in every form and aspect let’s start with the host amazing people but went straight to the bar Niki opened up with smiles and a greet and recommended me the pork starter! I’m glad I listened to her because that’s the best pork I had in months! Then Brittany also chimed in and made me and my fiance laugh with her jokes as well and made us feel like we’re not judged! After 2 hours at the bar we went to to our table Brandon was the same treatment smile greeting felt like he loved his career here amazing energy amped us up for our food and drink! Not just that he treated us like if we were his family which is so rare now after our dinner of how amazing it was joel came to our table with the upmost respect told us about the benefits of joint the Marriott in which we will definitely join because of his recommendations and points he mentioned not only that Owen also joined our table to make sure everything went well smoothly and the fact that they all came and checked and chatted especially with other people and us made us feel like this is our permanent restaurant to have beautiful multiple nights in thank you team Margaret’s definitely going to be a regular...
