14 North Daiquiri Bar — Restaurant in Dania Beach

I dread having to leave this review on a place that I frequently visit, but here we go. I visit Dania Improv at least 6-8 times per year. On December 7, 2024, I was going next door to Dania Improv for a show, I stopped into 14 North to purchase a bottle of water. Bartender Alyssa served me, I gave her a 20.00 bill, and she gave me back 12.00, I immediately took the 10.00 and left her with the 2.00 in her hand. As I was putting the 10.00 back in my wallet, I casually said to her, " How much was the water?" She replied 6.25, in my head I was like hmmmmn I only got 12.00 back as if the water was 8.00. So I immediately asked her why she only gave me 12.00 back.she was like "Oh you wanted the rest of the change back." WAIT WHAT, of course, I want all my change back. She went to the register and gave me back 1.00 with an attitude. At this point, I was enraged at the audacity and arrogance of Alyssa. I told her to give me my 2.00 tip back, so I said where my .75 cents, her reply was we don't keep change in the drawer. Not my problem, get me a manager. At this point, I was livid it may have only been 1.75 that she tried to steal from me. It was the fact that she was so unbothered about the fact that she just got busted for stealing. I spoke with manager Jess, explained what happened, she blew smoke up my ass like it was not a big deal, then she immediately went to the register and gave me the .75. According to Alyssa, they don't keep change in the drawer, so not only is Alyssa a thief but a liar.

I went to the show and tried to enjoy myself, but I was bothered over what happened. I went back over to 14 North, and of course, Jess was conviently not available, so I spoke with another manager, Brandon, and once again that seemed to fly in one ear and out the other So yes, I may only be 1.75, but that fact that Alyssa tried me, if she did it to me she does it to others . I was definitely unsatisfied with the response I got from management, so I will definitely be going to Sunbiz.org and finding out who the management company is of 14 North and letting them know about this. The moral of the story is, make sure when you go to 14 North, ask how much the drinks are before you order, check your card receipt, count your change, and don't...

I made reservations for 7:45 for a party of 3 last night. Arrived at 7:44. The hostess didn’t appear friendly at all. In fact, she was sitting on her phone when we walked in. I advised her we had reservations and she seated us at the high top table nearest to the door (at my request) as all the other tables inside appeared to be taken.

UPDATE: Several months later and I have still not received any contact from management. Speaks volumes about their customer service!! 15 minutes had gone by, 2 waitresses passed by, with not even a “hello”, “we’ll be with you in a minute”….. nothing!! Once again the hostess was sitting on her phone in clear view of us…. And not even she acknowledged that we hadn’t even been greeted by a waitress. So she seats 2 more parties and I ask her is there a server for this table and she didn’t even respond. She gave me a smirk, went back and sat down at the hostess stand and proceeded to be on her phone again. She never even attempted to go find our waitress.

This was my very first time at your establishment and if I could give it 0 stars… I would because it wasn’t a good experience. We waited another few minutes… still no assistance and we got up and left to find another business to have dinner and drinks at.

This restaurant has a good vibe. The food was great however the waiters were a little slow because they were assisting other tables. The only problem is when you get the bill the gratuity is 18%. Not to mention that breaks the Florida Law that was passed July 2023. In order for a restaurant to charge gratuity automatically. You must be aware. Signs must be posted and it MUST be listed on each menu. Allowing you the customer to decide whether they choose to eat there and pay that amount of gratuity. Total gratuity for three individuals $32.20. Florid makes that the persons choice Florida Statue 509.2124 (2023) look it up. Companies these days are breaking the law forcing customers to pay HIGH gratuity. I pay gratuity wherever I go. Don’t force me to pay what you say I should pay. There threee tickets from my table alone. Can you imagine for a waiter that I had to keep asking other waiters to send to my table but she stood right there to collect those payments. The food was excellent! It’s the gratuity that will get you. GET THOSE SIGNS POSTED STATING THE GUIDELINES FOR 18% GRATUITY. Your company clearly broke the Florida Law.
