I’ve really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt because I’ve been going here so long. But they’re saving Grace is literally the bartenders and that’s depending on which one you get.
Since I’ve been going here, the manager And that’s the one who basically lives, there has not once ever greeted or spoken to me or anyone who I’ve brought into this establishment, knowing that I was friends with the bar staff. So that in itself already leaves a bad taste of my mouth whenever I see his sullen, dead pan eyed, poorly dressed ssa. Today on the other hand was the final straw for me. I went in Around 3:30 PM and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The manager who was behind the bar at the time working the service bar didn’t even bother to greet me once I sat down or offer me anything. Once he was done making the drink he was working on, he retreated into the kitchen. Eventually, the server who was working both the restaurant and the bar came out, very briefly greeted me, dropped a menu and a glass of water and kept it pushing. As someone has been in the service industry for well over 15 years, you typically drop water and ask them if they want to get started with anything first. She comes back around and asked me if I’m ready to which I put in my food and drink order at the same time because if you’ve been there as much as I have you know that service there is very hit or miss. VERY!!!! And by this, I mean, you literally have to ask for everything; more napkins, removing old glasses, even though you have new ones sitting on the table, bringing silverware to the bar, even though your food’s been sitting in front of you for three minutes. You know, the basic things that all servers should be trained on if their management was actually doing their job! So she makes my drink which takes longer than expected being that it’s slow. Upon approach, I could tell by the color of the drink that it was not made correctly, and there was way too much orange juice in it.I took one sip of the drink and knew it wasn’t correct to which I informed her once I managed to catch her eye and let her know that there was too much juice in the drink. She goes over to the lazy manager who was sitting at a table and he then comes behind the bar and remake the drink. Mind you, he never acknowledged me or apologized or said anything to me.
Food comes out, I have no silverware. The server is now at the table, talking with the manager, most likely about the fact that I sent my drink back. It takes her a minute to notice me before I gesture to bring me silverware.
Server bring silverware that is rolled in a crinkled up raggedy looking napkin. I open the silverware to discover that it is dirty and has residue on it. I sit and wait for the server to hopefully catch my eye as I am staring at her trying to get her to come over. She does not pay attention so I get up with dirty silverware walk over to her table with the manager where she is and show her that the silverware is dirty and request a new set of silverware. She then asked if I want plasticware instead to which I respond yes.
Once she sets the plasticware down, I am now turned off by the whole situation and I’ve lost my appetite after all the faux pas that have occurred since I’ve arrived. And what made me even more infuriated is the manager never bothered to say anything at all so after sitting there and progressively getting more angry, I decided to unction to the server who again was over at the managers table chitchatting, to close me out.
Once she comes behind the bar, she asked if I wanna take my food to go, which I sternly reply "No, I’m not feeling it today". She let me pay for just the Margarita and I sent out a 20 and left promptly
I consider myself someone who is very forgiving, especially when it comes to the service industry, but I had my final straw with this restaurant and especially the management there. Quite frankly, the bartenders are the real reason that Place is in business. The food there is bland at best. The margaritas are the best thing...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the staff couldn’t care less that customers were even there.
We asked the host about Taco Tuesday specials and she literally couldn’t even answer the question, too busy glued to her phone to bother giving a simple response. No greeting, no smile, just no correlation of what was happening at the establishment she works in.
Then we sat at the bar hoping the service would get better… it didn’t. Our server never acknowledged us, acted like we were invisible, and only had excuses instead of service. NOT ONCE did he bother doing a check back to see how our food came out. It honestly felt like we were being judged or brushed off just because we looked young. (Mind you, this place is ran by a bunch of high schoolers.)
And the best part? The “bar” manager, the person who’s supposed to set the example, & run the restaurant / check on the guest was openly talking about not being able to get through his shift because he forgot his weed pen??? like it was no big deal to his coworkers that just got off their shift and happened to be sitting next to us at the bar, Completely unprofessional. Mind you we had to wave down the bartender standing next to the “bar manager” to order because they were so busy talking to coworkers about a boat party instead of focusing on the full bar of customers they had. When I tried to talk to the “bar manager” about the awful experience + service , he couldn’t have cared less. Zero accountability, zero respect. The list can honestly go on ….
This place is an absolute embarrassment. Between the lazy staff, the clueless management, and the complete lack of customer care, CT Cantina is a restaurant nobody should ever step foot in again. Terrible food & even...
Read moreMy bf and I decided to stop by for our date night dinner after a place near by that we originally planned to visit was closing. We've been here once in the past and remembered how great the food was, but our experience this time not only nearly ruined our date night, but will prevent us from visiting ever again. After being sat our server brought us water and within a few minutes took our drink and appetizer order. Once it was up it was dropped off w no plates or silverware. But that's no problem! We forget things sometimes. We call her over and she brings plates .. w no silverware. We attempt to eat our app without it, but after a few minutes we wave her down and ask for the silverware which she brings. After this, we never here from her again .. no attempt to take our order .. no check-in .. nothing. Every time she walked past our table she looked the opposite way or darted straight past making noooo eye contact. We could have walked right out and she probably wouldn't have even noticed. We waited and waited and waited hoping that she would eventually come or give us some sort of acknowledgment so that we could just order our food, but nothing. I shouldn't have to yell "excuse me" or wave my arms to get my servers attention each time. We thought about transferring to the bar, but as we looked over, the bartender was making drinks as she held and ate a full size burrito!! "Management" who we thought was a bar guest sat by as if all this was normal. After a while my bf who I rarely EVER here complain says "let's leave." I then wave down another server who happened to be near by and asked for a "manager" .. who was able to get us our check, but you could just tell the shoe fit on what type of establishment was being run here. We paid our bill and left. We won't...
