So we heard about Legends prior to going, and we are thrilled we went. One in our group asked for 5 minutes before going in - he ran across the street and turned his $40 into $100 at one hand of Blackjack (kudos Richard P.) Someone in the casino said to him: "Going to Legends? get the lobster bisk - dunk the bread into it OMG! Then depending on your own thoughts . . . The Buffalo Ribeye is excellent, but it's real lean. Most don't realize that before ordering. The 'regular' Ribeye is the best steak you will ever have." (3 buddies and my wife came.) Starters: One of us got the lobster bisk and I got the Escargot. All sampled each. Escargot was incredible. Lobster bisk was the same (yes, try dunking their bread into it. We had three loaves before the meal was done - delicious hand made bread.) Main: Now I pride myself on how I cook a Ribeye at home, and will do so for guests I want to impress . . . Their Ribeye was incredible!!! Best I've ever had. I ordered Medium-rare and it came out a little more rare than I wanted or would normally accept. (Hint coming) I cut into it and was deciding whether to send it back for a minute more each side . . . Then I couldn't resist and tried a bite. OMFG!!! Sooooooo delicious! I ate the whole thing and never once said it should have been cooked more. Au gratin potatoes on the side, yum! My wife had the Salmon with Truffle Mac and cheese. Very tasty! Bryan had another "Regular Ribeye" and Richard got the Buffalo Ribeye. We all shared bites to sample. The Buffalo Ribeye was very lean, no marbling as in reg. Ribeye. But it was very tasty and flavorful. (He couldn't finish it, it was big.) I realized, and so did everyone else, we never took any pics of our main course, so I apologize - the meal was so delicious the thought of stopping to take a picture . . . Never crossed anyone's mind. The one picture of food, is the Escargot and Lobster bisk in the process of being devoured. 😁 They do take/require reservations, FYI. We had walked up and we were able to get a reservation for about an hour and a half later, but it didn't take that long. We had time to walk Main St a bit and see sights we were looking for and made it back in perfect timing.

Some were dressed up, we were in T-shirts and no one scoffed at us. (We were in town for the archery shoot, Total Archery Challenge, and went here as our end of the trip reward.)

Don't question it, just go and experience it. You will be pleased. Rik...

If you are ok with the price but worry the quality may not be good, as many places around here and sturgis are, then DEFINITELY DO EAT HERE! The food! Finally! We had been looking for real, good, food, The area is saturated with mediocrity and price gouging. We had been looking for food with flavor and effort the whole time at Rally. Wed been disappointed quite a few times. But this place was recomended by a tattooer who had attended rally the last 10 years. The lobster bisque was great with a balance of sweetness and lobster chunks. I would usually make it thicker but, the lobster flavour was able to perforated throughout the soup. Excellent choice. The Ceasars salad. Probably my only disappointment. I wish all the effort had been carried through even to the salads. If this would step up slightly it could elevate the experience. The croutons were very basic. Some herbs seasoning and oil coukd help that. The dressing wasn't as remarkable as say the bisque or any if the other sauces. Even the shaved parm was just ok. In comparison to the rest if the menu it could be better. The shrimp crepe was the most surprisingly tasteful item we tried. It may sound like an oddity but wow. I was pleasantly in love. The ribeye was perfect and an excellent cut if steak. Cooked perfectly. The elk and gnocchi is a blast of flavor. This one is rich so be prepared for the combo of ot all. The caprese chicken was delicious. The chicken was very tender. The combo of flavors were balanced. The Mac and cheese side was artistic. Nice and slow combo of flavor with that final braised layer. For dessert the chocolate torte. I encourage you to try this with the coffee with rumchata. Perfect end to it and great pallete cleanser. The effort in food, service, and knowledge of the food amongst staff was refreshing in an area that seems to just put a high price on everything but their own pride in service and technique just because they can. All in all this restaurants quality is the same if not better than restaurants of equal quality in much larger areas....

We were okay waiting 45 minutes to be seated, but once my son and I were sat at 9:10 pm, we sat until 9:35 pm when I finally got up and said something to the night manager. He said he would get someone right over. The one server came out and cleaned up her two party tables and still said nothing. I thought for sure it was going to be her. Then, finally, a different server that had been waiting on the 6 top next to us came out and greeted us. So, about another 5-7 minutes. Well, after that long of a wait, we knew what we wanted. My son ordered a soda and I, a drink, an appetizer, and our meals. The server said she would be back with our drinks, bread and salads. She brought the bread and then my son's drink. Eventually, our salads came and I asked about my drink. She finally brought that. Once our meal came though, I looked at her and asked about the appetizer. She said, well that should have come a while ago. I looked at her and said.. you think? Halfway through our meal, the app finally came. We finished the meal and the server brought the check. Now, it might have been a little presumptuous, but I did expect a discount or at least the app removed. There was no change. So I asked to see the manager. Told him it was our first time there and this was our experience. The only thing he had to say was, "You didn't sit here for almost 30 minutes waiting for the server to say hi." I looked at him and said, "Really." Then repeated the times. He took my ticket and said, "I'll discount it." So basically, I was called a liar. None of the other experiences or anything else was mentioned or brought up. Just that I lied about how long we sat there and waited. I will not be going back! I warn those that go that if you're not dressed a certain way or present yourself a certain way, you may get treated the wrong way! I...

Went on a Saturday around 9 pm. Our waitress was good and friendly. First off its a nice place. We sat right next to the electric fireplace. Ordered a sweet tea and hubby ordered Long Island Iced tea. My tea was gross! It literally was sugar water. Hubby liked his "LIT". The complimentary bread and butter was amazing, but how could anyone mess that up. Wanted prime rib but they were out. I decided on the Steak Oscar ($46) with the vanilla mint salad! The salad was really good, however the mint really didnt go well. The Steak Oscar is a filet with lump crab meat and Hollandaise sauce. It was over cooked, a low quality cut and cold, the sauce lumpy not smooth how it should be, the truffled mac n cheese was cold and the green beans and asparagus were cold. Sent back. Husband ordered the Elk Gnocchi Pasta. ($29) with the Caesar salad. It was really tasty. We both shared that while waiting for my dinner to be remade. We sat and visited while we waited. As we sat I noticed oil separating from the cream sauce from The Elk pasta dish 💀😳!! It looked unappealing and I was surprised at the amount of oil because it didnt taste oily at all!! My Steak Oscar finally came back and I still didnt like it. It was so tough. Hubby tried it, he didnt care for it either. We enjoyed the ambiance and eachothers company. We will give this place another try next time we visit. Also we never were asked if we wanted dessert ☹️ our total was $94.

Ah, Legends, home of the best steaks in Deadwood....obviously, lots of places claim this, but after one or two locals also gave us the nod, we ate here. Having had a 400 mile drive, and a couple of beers down Main St, we missed the starters and went straight for mains. This came with a warm garlic bread roll and complimentary salad. The girls chose the Legends wedge salad, and I had the Steakhouse Chopped salad, which were all amazing, how to make salads interesting!! The mains arrived, Colorado Lamb Rack, Centre Cut Sirloin and a Dry Aged South Dakota bone in Buffalo Ribeye. The last one was probably the best steak I have ever had, and I've had a few!! The lamb was so tender it fell off the bone and melted in the mouth, and the Sirloin was perfectly cooked and extremely good. The accompanying potatoes and beans were very tasty. Service was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant, it was good to be able to talk without raising voices, oh, and the wine was lovely. The hotel itself is well worth a look round, and the restaurant deserves its spot at the top of the Deadwood recommendation list.
