FRANKLIN HOTEL — Hotel in Deadwood

This review is for summer 2025 season. I do not advise booking here. The hotel is under major renovation and not ready for guests.

The front desk called us the day before our arrival to tell us the room we booked will not be ready in time, that they could accommodate us in a downgraded room and that they would comp our entire stay.

They were not forthcoming as to how unready the hotel is. Nearly every room is doorless and down to the studs. The wokman are constantly hammering, sawing, and drilling. They start at 8 am and it is too noisy to sleep through, even using a white noise machine.

Our first room did not have air conditioning. They moved us but the new room did not have hot water. We complained but it was never fixed during our 3 day stay.

The staff was friendly, which we appreciated and tipped for, but this hotel is unlikely to be able to accommodate visitors this summer season. Stay...

The room feels like a dang box! It is not a room it is a closet. No coffee maker, no microwave as others have said. The bed feels like I slept on a dang wood board. There isn't even room to put our stuff, it is literally a box. The window isn't even helpful to open because it is faced to a brick building. This is what I think it would feel like to be in jail. Just don't stay at this hotel unless you check out the actual room yourself. Bartender was rude as hell to. If we ever go back we will be staying somewhere...

Ghost and rooms!! If you are staying for the room, the bed is a little hard, mine seem to be broken on the right side. And the bathroom is weirdly shaped, had to pee sitting sideways. But there are public bathroom on the second floor were we stayed.

If you are staying for the spooks. We laid some cat balls around the room and while everyone was in bed they one by the bathroom door kept going off. That was about it.
