Lively town. Entertaining shows. Friendly actors. Reasonable prices for shows and tours. Everything to do is clearly marked on website, on street markers, and with customer service on the phone. The weather was very nice all day on Sat, July 10 but we never saw the stagecoach for rides:( The 8:00 trial was entertaining. This event was a big deal to me as I'm a retired court reporter and still can't get enough of courtroom drama! After the performance, I spoke with the actors and they are phenomenal on stage and off. SUGGESTIONS: We attended the 12:00 Lawman's Tour with actor, Les Nuckles, who plays Sheriff Seth Bullock. We love history and he is full of knowledge and shows compassion for sharing it:):) However, we stood in one place for most of the 1.5 hours, barely moving to only @3 other buildings. It needs to be more of a walking tour. And because his voice does not carry far, he needs to wear a microphone so we can hear him. The sidewalks are full of loud people and the roads are full of noise from all kinds of vehicles, buses & street machines. Otherwise, we loved our time in Deadwood and...
Read moreHIGHLY recommend the Lawman's Patrol tour! It was worth EVERY PENNY! The guy who does the tour dresses up like Sheriff Bullock and he is INSANELY knowledgeable about Deadwood. So much better than just walking around. They only do the tour once per day, so don't miss it! Best thing we did in town! The actors that are part of this group also do shootouts which were ok. Pretty bad acting, but its fun seeing the shooting. 5 stars for the tour, not the shootouts, thats more...
Read moreSheriff Bullock was fantastic! He was extremely friendly, charismatic, and knowledgeable about Deadwood history. He could answer every question. Our tour lasted about an hour and a half but it varies depending on the group, and you can leave at any time. The gun fights were also incredible and realistic. If the reason you are in Deadwood has anything to do with its history, this...
