I've ate here about 3 times know and I've tried around 10 - 13 items. I tend to make sure I get enough to have snacks for a couple of days. I will admit before anything else, that they are good bakers. Their products are good, and it's a nice addition to Downtown Deland. But with that said, I have two problems with them.
I plan to give this place another try in later months, and if things change or If I find a product that doesn't reflect these two issues I will gladly submit a second review with a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to preface this review by saying I am not the type of person to leave negative reviews even when dissatisfied because I know that they can be harmful, so I hope that shows how disrespected and upset I am by their total lack of care. I found this bakery online and thought it was a great match for a party I was planning, I loved the small business aspect and the desserts looked very good but I called 11 times over the course of 3 weeks trying to talk to someone in charge about placing a reasonably large order and was met with the biggest game of run around that has ever existed. I donāt know if I ever spoke to the owner or a manager but the employees I did speak to continued to take my information and tell me that I would be getting a call back the same day, the next day or a scheduled day, which never happened. I waited and waited because I really loved this small business and wanted to use them to cater a corporate party I was planning. I have worked in the service industry a long time and the level of disrespect and games I was met with is unmatched to any other business/person I have dealt with. It would have been very easy to just let me know like adults running a business that they were not interested in my order. I hope in the future they show a level of decorum and respect for their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed feeding the ducks and ibis at Painters Pond yesterday behind Buttercup Bakery who, along with the realty next door, created and maintain this sanctuary for the ducks. Itās a lovely place to grab a gourmet coffee and a pastry or sandwich and sit at the tables alongside the pond. The selection is huge, prices as reasonable, and quality is wonderful. Buttercup Bakery beats the Boston place in town hands down / no contest so I donāt know why the chain bakery is packed and this heavenly local eatery is not! Yāall need to try Buttercup. They even have a drive-thru!
As I was feeding the ducks a large bag of old bread, a few of them became quite comfortable with me. They stood in front of me and I would toss a piece of bread to each one and each would catch it in mid air.
They wagged their tail feathers in delight, much like a dog wagging its tail. One took a piece out of my hand. And later came straight up to me and ever so gently put its beak to my leg to let me know s/he wanted bread. They were so much more adorable than I anticipated. And they did not come to the table begging for my scone. They only came over when I fed them a bunch of bread. How polite!
The bakery is idyllic and located in...
