From the time we entered your team failed to provide good service. 1)Luke warm welcome. When seating us the host was stopped by a server, we were just a few feet from our table, and the host said to my husband “Wait here I will be back in a minute.” He did come right back and then seated us…but should have seated us first! Not left us standing literally steps from the table. He gave us our menus and said our server would be by soon.
Server walked by and said “I will be right with you.” She returned a few minutes later to take our drink order and apologizing as she was very busy. She took our drink order and appetizer order. After waiting a reasonable behind of time, she came out with our drinks. Another person came out with our appetizer and sat on the table and left. We did not have silverware and we did not have plates for the appetizer. We tried to flag somebody down and did not see our server for several minutes. We had to stop her and say we needed silverware and plates. She returned the silverware and one plate. We had to ask her to bring two more plates. We asked if we could put in the order and she did take our food order at that time.
We were busy talking with our friend and her soup arrived. The soup was cold. We realized it was almost a half an hour had passed, and our food had not arrived . Then the server came by and began to explain that she had a couple big groups that were seated and made excuses. Told her that the soup was cold and asked if she would remove it from the bill. She said she would and check on our food. Then the manager came over and said she would remove the soup and we explained that our food hadn’t shown up yet. She said she would check on the food order. Shortly after the manager returned with the server and the our meals.
After that, our service was fine but once again we never know what to expect when we come to Millers. Sometimes it is good service and good food, and sometimes it’s lousy service and average food.
We highly recommend your host or hostesses not just provide menus when seating people, but also provide everyone with silverware. If you order an appetizer the waitress should immediately bring enough plates for the party or whoever serves the appetizer should check and make sure you have silverware and plates. (The person who served our appetizer basically dropped it off and walked away.) Everybody’s job is customer service at a restaurant! Teach that...
Read moreWe were following the directions from Google to another restaurant when we saw Miller's Ale House and decided to stop here to eat. Since we were traveling back home and had not eaten all day, we said, "Let's try somewhere different for us. We had a great greeting from the older women as soon as we walked inside. I shared with her how it came about for us to eat here, and she was excited telling us all the specials. Then, we were seated in the section with Tammy, our server. She only had 3 tables, 1 was at desert and 1 was about to get their meals, then our table of 2. We placed our order and then quickly changed our mind about not wanting a salad and downhill went the rest of the visit. Once she brought the salad, we did want to the table she never came back to check on us. We had to stop her to ask how much longer for our food. I do not like to say service is different due to race, but we were the only brown customers in her section. Tammy then started getting busy with more tables. She continued to assist them, but not us. Then a table of 3 brown males were sitted in her section, and I noticed how slow she was to assist them. Once we received our meals, which were small lunch specials, the food was warm, not hot. Wonder how long the food was sitting. We asked about rolls when we placed our ordered and it took us asking maybe twice before she finally brought them to the table way after we had our food. This made for such a negative experience. We watched how she serviced all the other tables after us so quickly and how fast they received their food. When we left, the table of brown males was still waiting on 3 burgers. WOW. We shared our negative experience with the nice older hostess when leaving. We will not patronize...
Read moreThis was my first time at Miller's Ale House. It was a bit chaotic, fire alarm panel in the entry constantly beeping, host staff was swamped. As a party of one and with a wait of 45 min, they offered that I sit at the bar. They failed to note there were open spaces at the bar but no seats. Once aware, they did help relocate chairs to the bar.
Bartenders were plenty but all were rushing about, not paying attention to new customers.
Other customers at the bar were warning me "it's going to take a while..."
I noted there were 3 managers walking about but no one stopped by to see how things were going. They also were not assisting the swamped staff.
When I did get my food, it was good, I have no complaints at all. The burger arrived hot and was cooked as I requested.
After the food arrived, no one stopped by to check if there were issues. I had to flag someone to ask for napkins, silverware and a water refill.
I fully get that they are likely understaffed. I've worked in many restaurants early in my working career and know all it takes is some eye contact, a brief statement of "I see you, I'll be with you as soon as I can" and I have zero issues with you being busy. Not looking at me and hoping I will disappear isn't a good strategy. This is learned behavior and I fault management as they didn't understand it either. (The manager with the throat tattoo should spend equal time checking with all customers as they did with the two ladies at the bar, discussing her tattoo.)
Im posting this as constructive criticism to maybe help them improve. When in the area, I would...
