JB's used to be ok. Not good for baby boomers or seniors like used to be, now rude, wild young patrons, rowdy rap type crowd. Now, Monday is Live Band karaoke from 8 to 12, which really sucks now. Band good but the host and way it's handled now NOT good. Has his own little group that always sing, instead of allowing new singers in the rotation as like a experienced kj does. Was better before Covid. Used to pick a song out of a list in a book the band knew. Give a song slip to the band member. The big issue is kitchen closes at 10pm now? Didnt use to before now since have new owner we found out by mgr at Silverball museum next door stating also not as good as when previous owners ran the joint and karaoke night was better with food up to closing. So we tried to get service, took way too long & was talking to his friends, Waiter finally gets to table and we wanted to eat something, rudely says no food, kitchen close!!!!!!!d and walks off. So friend leaves to go next door and get food from nearby and walks back in sits back down with his group. Same waiter immediately comes over makes a big deal about we can't eat other food in bar. Remember,,we tried to order their food for group and their drinks, so he calls this big black rude bouncer over and the black ape harasses the guy and his girl and tells the whole group waiting forever to sing forcing to leave pushing the girl and guy as they are walking out. Another friend was videoing the band and caught this black ape looking dude pushing the girl & guy and will be reporting to authorities. This abuse all over wanting to eat some food from another place when they stopped serving at 10pm and karaoke still going on. I do NOT recommend JBs anymore, especially on Mondays. You want good karaoke,Go to Tim Finegans or others. There is a sweet girl named Dawn good karaoke host and more upscale intelligent crowd and staff/service way much better food as well & served til almost closing time. Also, we noticed homeless beggers, hangs at and outside of JBs now. Not very safe from street looters who hang outside on sidewalks and in back patio area exit. Parking is difficult. A P.I. detective friend will be involving dirty dining investigators as well as BMI /ASCAP monitoring JBs frequently, because of this issue, just over food being brought in after told no food there,,leave if you want to eat & Rude, even physical abuse to women by staff Unbelievable! Your thoughts? Where do you go for safe karaoke spots on Mondays and...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO ratings I would! This place has went downhill! What a shame! Do not give them your business! We were told by “manager “ not to come back to their establishment! No worries, There are MANY wonder places to eat! Thank you Boston’s On the Beach for fabulous Dinner! Below is my review! My family and I have been here many times since it opened about 10 years ago. We hadn’t been out to eat in a while and we decided to go here because I love their Onion Rings plus the atmosphere is usually nice but clearly things have changed. First we were barely greeted, just told to take a seat anywhere, then we sit(around 430pm on Monday) The place wasn’t busy, we were then greeted by a waiter for drinks, a different waitress for food, we asked for Onion rings and Dr Pepper along with kids drinks. We were told they didn’t have onion rings or Dr Pepper so we ordered something else as we were confused, the staff looked confused and lost as well. I’ve ordered The best onion rings here for many years yet i was told they have NEVER served onion rings here! The kids were on and off stage as they have been before but the waitress came and asked us to not let kids on stage on behalf of manager(we understood so we told kids to get down), my son accidentally spilled his tea(no lid provided) No one came to help give us napkins Or address anything so at that point we were done and felt very uneasy and UNWELCOMED as we cleaned up all the mess. We had some snarky looks and feelings from staff when ordering as well. So i canceled our order very quickly and said we will pay for drinks but we were leaving and I felt uneasy about the whole ordeal. Approached by manager No-Name, just a title pusher, and he asked why we were unhappy and wanted to leave, we explained to him what was going on. He did not care to fix problem, make things right or say sorry! Instead he had nerve to ask my family to no longer come back to their restaurant. I’m honestly shocked We have Never been asked to not come back to place. This is not how you treat a family taking their children out for dinner. We will never visit this place...
Read morePlace is cool, bartender last night, not so much. I am relatively new here and this is a good spot to give the night some energy. Last night I was there with two friends and when we got our drinks, mine was made incorrectly. When I told the (guy) bartender, he pulled my straw then tasted it (which is gross) and told me that is what I ordered. I told him, “no, it’s my go to drink so I know what it tastes like.” He then tells me “people” try to get free drinks doing that every night and he “doesn’t know me.” Keep in mind I had one sip of the drink and it still looked full. So he begrudgingly remade my actual drink and left the incorrect one that he drank out of in front of me. I guess he was assuming I was going to take both, to get my “free drink.” I of course did not. He then rolls his eyes as if it’s a bother to throw away the incorrect drink. Meanwhile, the bartender that made it CONFIRMED it was not what I ordered. She was great but that resulted in my first time leaving a zero tip in over 10 years. Sorry to her, but if your people/teammates treat customers like that, I’m sure I won’t be the last. Guy needs to lose the attitude and be more courteous to...
