Don’t you just love it when a business strives to be different? It’s difficult to say the least. But when they succeed; oh boy!
Courier is a contender for a spot after your very own heart. And tummy. If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach then this is a dangerous place. Even for this wo-Man.
I don’t know if they re-invented the wheel here but they definitely made all their dishes different. Wether it be the Scallop Ceviche (scallop & ceviche?) yeah it works. Beautifully! Gnocchi Mac & Cheese. (What? Not the regular pasta?) The taste was amazingly downhome comfortable. The color was vibrant and my tongue was a bit confused but in a nice way. This dish is heavier than your standard Mac&Cheese and the third one was their Grilled shrimp and these are just the appetizers.
.....and the night was still young.
While waiting for the entree we sipped on two of their cocktails. Mine was the RETRACTION and is hands down one of my favorite finds as of recently. It’s Four Roses Whiskey, Peach, Lemon. Simple, uncomplicated and super tasty! We also had the BOLDFACE.
Entree: Stroganoff: this came with Ravioli. Although the ravioli’s not made in house they source it where it matters. Locally made and organic. I’m a meat lover. The tender short rib just fell apart once my fork touched it. Seasoned well and definitely made me very happy! Smoked Duck A la Orange. Bite size slice of heaven. Saison Glaze and Forbidden Fried rice accompanied this tasty shrimps. No complains here.
The most admired for me and one I can’t stop talking about is this ridiculously crazy melt in your mouth Bread Pudding Fritters. It came with a perfectly made caramel sauce. The chef trimmed the bread pudding into this tiny little bite size little cloud of happiness. They arrive at your table warm. When you dip one into that caramel sauce and bite into it- you are so done. I was amazed. It’s sinfully tasty and I could eat like twenty orders by myself. I’m a super fan! And then there’s the Not your Birthday Cake. Funny name but it’s seriously as equally yummy!
The staff were great. Polite, friendly but professional!

Read moreSave your money and skip a meal is my advice if you don’t feel like going to a nearby restaurant- there are several really great ones only a block or two via short walk.
Slow service, waiter didn’t write down the order and got two of the three meals incorrect. Passed by table no less than ten times without refills, when asked for refill he only did one of the three teas.
Never asked how the food was, never cleared our plates, had to ask for refills three times, had to grab another waiter to get our check and on top of all of that they automatically add 20% -so no wonder why they treat you so poorly they couldn’t care less.
We were for a dance competition and there is wide spread sentiment saying the same - no service, food incorrect, no acknowledgment, I mean it was offensive. He didn’t even care that he got two of the orders wrong and was put out by the interaction.
During our last visit they got our room service incorrect and to top it off you pay way too much for the quality of food.
We witnessed this with other tables - no refills - had to ask for bills - one family just got up and left without paying - fastest I saw him move all night to go after them.
They prioritized cleaning off tables over taking orders, asking about your meal, refills, asking for desert or bringing a check.
So if you’re looking for a terrible experience or looking to be treated like you are a bother this is the place for you.
I would skip a meal before giving them business again, I would give them 0 stars if it were an option. Run don’t walk to any of the restaurants nearby or have the food delivered like we have the rest of the weekend.
Pictures is the pile of dishes he left in front of me while not refilling our drinks - ignoring us- and not bringing our tab.
It felt like we were being punked - there are no words to express how pathetic...
Read moreThis is a poorly designed hotel restaurant. I was led to believe the breakfast buffet was included in the price of the hotel both by asking the staff (!) and the design of the space, so I went ahead and started with the buffet. I found out after starting to eat that it was $18. The breakfast buffet selection was not good for that price, especially for anyone with dietary restrictions. I felt cheated. I would have eaten elsewhere had I known.
I would change two things: post the menu at the inside entrance (like any other restraunt) and stand a staff member at a lectern facing guests so they can be greeted as they enter (like any other restaurant with wait staff). Instead, it opens straight into the breakfast buffet/seating and feels like it's just part of the hotel.
I think I felt this way primarily because I expected one thing and got another. You may have a better experience if you were originally planning to spend $18 for the buffet, but as someone who had their expectation shattered, it's hard to feel good about it. I hope this is good constructive criticism...
