OMG, You Have to Go to Knockabout Burgers! Seriously, stop what you're doing right now and add Knockabout Burgers (3200 N. Pecos Street in Denver) to your travel bucket list. This place is not just a burger joint; it's a culinary experience that absolutely blew my mind. I'm still trying to figure out how Chef Ricky and his team make simple comfort food taste this ridiculously good.
The Grilled Cheese the best I have ever had.
Okay, let me start with the star of the show that has ruined all other sandwiches for me: the Parmesan Crusted Grilled Cheese. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best grilled cheese we have ever had. It's got this magical, crunchy Parmesan shell on the outside that gives way to a perfect, molten blend of cheeses inside. It’s savory, it’s decadent, and honestly, I wanted to order a second one before I even finished the first. You cannot skip this!
A Chicken Sandwich for the Ages
And while they're called "Knockabout Burgers," do not sleep on the chicken. Their Chicken Sandwich is just so, so good. The chicken is perfectly cooked—super tender inside with that satisfying crunch on the outside. It’s seriously a top-tier sandwich that could hold its own against any of the famous chicken places out there.
The Must-Have Side Quest
Speaking of cannot skip: you must get the Garlic Parmesan Fries. These are not your average side of fries. They are perfectly crispy, tossed in a fragrant, savory mix of garlic and Parmesan that makes them completely addictive. They’re the kind of fries you keep reaching for until the basket is mysteriously empty.
The Secret Weapon: Scratch-Made Sauces
Here’s where Knockabout truly shines and shows they care about every single detail: all their sauces are made from scratch. You can instantly taste the difference. We tried a couple, but the absolute winner for us was the Honey Mustard. It was perfectly balanced—a little sweet, a little tangy, and just unbelievably creamy. It made the fries, the chicken, everything taste better!
My Final Thoughts: Go immediately. Get the grilled cheese, the chicken sandwich, and those garlic parm fries. And definitely stock up on that phenomenal honey mustard. Trust me on this one—it’s a...
Read moreTook my wife here because we are from out of town & she has a meat allergy & they had a vegetarian chicken sandwich.
Ordered the vegetarian chicken sandwich and a burger & 2 fries. First off it was $42 for 2 burgers and fries. Person behind the counter clearly did not want to be there which is always wonderful. So they charge and arm and a leg for a sandwich but can’t pretend to have customer service skills.
Second off, they made her vegetarian chicken burger with real chicken. Again my wife has a meat allergy, she doesn’t just not eat meat by choice.
So long story short, wife gets incredibly sick, we email corporate burnt we spent $42 to get my wife sick.
They were accommodating at first and said they would refund the meal.
3 months later, a $16 credit comes in.
I’m sorry, I know we all make mistakes in the food industry, but it’s about how you handle it.
Your companies negligence caused my wife to be sick for 2 days while we were on a work trip traveling away from home, and then you said you’d refund our meal for inconvenience & 3 months later you slide $16 of $42 in our account.
Savage corporate scam, gave 3 months before writing the review. Expect better service for...
Read moreAlthough the burger probably would have been good warm, we will not be ordering takeout from any restaurant at Avanti again. Finding parking is challenging and there is a line to get in. There is not any plan in place to cater to those who would like to support these businesses but not spend time in a public place. The burger was ready about 4 minutes after the order was placed, not the projected 10, and it took almost 20 just to get to the counter. All employees were on the grill, and when I finally got someone they didn't even speak to me. Just showed me the name on the ticket and went back to work. Full restaurant prices, including tip, to be essentially brushed aside. When we got our food home, it was cold and soggy. My wife threw most of hers into the trash. If you want any type of service as a takeout customer, I'd pick a different place to...
