This walk-up counter establishment is inside a restaurant collective called Avanti. The vibe inside was fun, casual and loud. At Quiero Arepas, the service was poor but the food was delicious. We ordered 3 different arepas sandwiches and a side of fried plantains, which had a small amount of cheese and green avocado-cilantro salsa on top (which I had not expected but which was very good). We also order passion fruit juice which was refreshing and sweet but not too sweet. The sandwiches we ordered were the Reina Pepiada (chicken/avocado/citrus Mayo), Pollo Guisado (marinated chicken), and Pabellon (marinated beef). My favorite was the Pabellon but all were good. What I did not care for was the surly large man with a bald head that took our order. I have a 10-year old daughter with celiac disease. We don’t have a lot of options to eat out where we live, so we were all really excited to be in Denver and try this place. My daughter is a pretty adventurous eater, but she has had a couple of bad experiences being glutened when eating a sandwich. So she has developed a ittle aversion to sandwiches. She will eat them deconstructed. It’s weird, I know. But, how big of a deal is it to just not put the sandwich together and serve all the ingredients on the side? Well, apparently it’s too difficult, because Mr. Surly Sour Face interrupted me before I could finish my request and said “No. We don’t do that.” It was delivered with such a finality and “case closed” attitude that I didn’t even try to go further. I ordered for my daughter anyway, but she wouldn’t eat it. It was so frustrating because I work so hard to provide good eating experiences for my daughter and this all just went to !?$” I was mad I paid a bunch of money to Uber there, mad at Mr. Surly, and unfairly mad at my daughter. So, although the food was very good, I will skip this place on my next trip to Denver. A gluten-free place that can’t accommodate a simple request from a little girl with celiac disease?...
Read moreMyself, my wedding coordinator Jill at SKYLIGHT, and my fiance all tried relentlessly to get in contact with Quiero, as we wanted to hire them for our wedding this October 2018. Multiple emails were sent, phone calls and voicemails were made, but we got nothing in return. While that was frustrating, I was still eager to hire them so I thought I'd contact them via Instagram. I commented on one of their posts asking if they've received our calls and emails. I got one response from that and then back to nothing. I reached out to them again my commenting on their latest Instagram photo since that seemed to be the only successful way to get any sort of response, and they deleted the comment and blocked me. (???) I was simply wanting some answers. I wanted to give them business. I wanted to show off their delicious food at my wedding to my guests. My mind is still blown and I'm actually disturbed that this even happened with such a reputable food company.
I mean... I was shocked. I was trying very hard to give them my business for a wedding of ~200 people. If Quiero wasn't interested in being hired for my wedding, or they are too busy, they could have let me know and I would have stopped bothering them. I was/still am extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service and immaturity of blocking a (former) very loyal customer.
If this review was solely for the quality of the food, I'd give 5 stars. But a business is more than just quality food. Customer service is huge and I wish there could have been a different outcome to all of this. I really did want them at my wedding. Such a...
Read moreWe use to come a lot to this place, I guess they expand and quality went down with it ! I will be honest food really over price, small arepas for the price, the meat was cold, cheese not even melted at all, plantains cold as well; but the biggest down pint servicies, they have this guy with glasses ( he did not want to give me his name ) with terrible actitud and disgusting services behave ! Maybe he most be relative with the owners or part owner because will be the only reason why so one it’s ALWAYS so rude (I been here couple times with him and always de same ) Hopefully someone talk to him and make understanding him this is not Venezuela where customer don’t have options and he must understand USA has a billions opportunity but it’s a lot competition! Food was too cold I literally through away (they notice but they just laughed and didn’t care I was seat in front of them; was funny to them ) Well good it’s life options here and I going to try another place (normally I posted my ticket but I asked after I eat and they said not ) By the way it’s not refeel on drinks salsa must be buy it it’s not included on their very expensive arepas And if you asked for a plain Simeon arepas it’s $6 dollars extremely high for arepa (single one) with not Even...
