Y'all. I am too old for this place, but it was SO MUCH FUN.
I made reservations here for dinner with a girlfriend for dinner after we attended the ballet. I somehow did not realize it was a bar, but it is. I would have known that if I had read the reviews. LOL!
It is SUPER CUTE. It is easily the most Instagramable place I've ever eaten at in Denver. Lights! Cute drinks! Fun straws! Disco balls! Adorable outdoor seating! (We sat inside, though.) They were having some kind of craft night that looked fun.
The pizza was delicious, and I did not think it was terribly priced by today's restaurant price standards. It was expensive, but going out is expensive these days. Our server was attentive and great with suggestions. (She also had awesome tattoos!)
Here's some things that may mean this place is not for you, but does not mean the place is bad:
We sat at a long, shared, high-top table. The music was loud (not crazy loud, but loud for us olds), which made talking difficult. Parking was a nightmare. (It's in LoHi, so that's to be expected, but just a note for people not from the area!) It is primarily a bar, not a restaurant.
Here's what I loved
The pizza was DELICIOUS Neither of us drink often, and our awesome server suggested a fabulous mocktail! The iced tea was fantastic. My friend is a vegetarian, and there were a ton of vegetarian options, which is part of the reason I initially chose this space. They asked about dietary restrictions when we ordered, so if you have those, this might be a good place for you! I am still Covid cautious, and it was well-ventilated, even inside. It was the CUTEST, most aesthetic place I had been in a long time. It felt just like being in college again.
Read moreService is everything guys! I won’t deny that this is a beautiful place with amazing decoration. Very unique ambiance for sure! It’s lovely here but unfortunately the staff is not so lovely. The bartenders were amazing lads and so sweet and funny but the hosts are quite a problem here. I came from Jersey and made a special reservation and called ahead to verify yet when I arrived there was no table for us and we waited 25 minuets and no one even apologized. In fact they were rude to us and all other customers too. I wouldn’t return here because I mean there are other pretty bars it’s just not this, this is beautiful Colorado after all. I also told the server I was allergic to arugula and she offered no substitution and rolled her eyes at me and didn’t even care- The hostesses sat others that came after us even though we had a resveration. Yeah it sounds like a Karen issue but when you’ve come for an anniversary out of state and called to verify, you’d at least expect some form of kindness, it is the service industry. So call it Karen all you want but this stuff matters and it is what keeps a customer returning. The hostess literally ignored me when I went up after 15 minuets to ask about our reservation status which I specifically requested outdoors and she stuffed us inside with a shared table…. And actually told me I was wrong because others with reservations were in the same boat. Super disorganized staff and manager is nowhere to be found. For the price, it’s not worth spending your money here just for a couple cute pictures. I would save your money for staff that will show you an ounce of respect because I got some serious racist vibes here and it’s simply not worth the poor expierence when the food is just average. It’s a shame but the staff isn’t able to manage the size of the...
Read moreIdk that I would go back. Nothing about it seems very accessible or practical. It's college party vibes, there are some cool pieces of furniture and the actual space is really neat. So I feel like the potential is there.
It just seems like there should be more attention on the actual products and service. We had a reservation for 6 people for a birthday party. Got there early. We ended up crammed into this tiny space of booths made out of old bath tubs, which were the only actual seats so- two people sat on the floor on a backless wood bench...we made a reservation and we are 6 adults. Didn't love the attitude of the host who said well this is the best we could do we have many large parties today, most larger than yours. Hmm. Maybe don't overbook the space with parties then. If you're under 8 people you aren't prioritized. You also have to pay the check on one tab and they don't tell you this until you try to leave!
Just seemed severely understaffed with apathetic college girls. We kept getting up and getting our drinks from the bar because we saw our actual server maybe twice. So shout out to the bartnenders those ladies were killing it and it was clear.
Idk. Just seems like there's so much attention to decor and vibes but zero effort to actually take care of your guests or make the experience even slightly worth the prices. If we do return, we will just sit at the bar! Highly recommend everyone else...
