The only reason I’m giving this a two star is because of the sandwich.
I have so much to say and not in a good way.
To start. If this is how Bodegas are ran in NY I’m glad I’m in CO. This was my first time coming in here as my mother likes to check out local shops and give her support. This trip she wanted to get lottery tickets and check a few she had. When we asked the male clerk about obtaining some. He pointed to the woman whom I assume was in charge. My mom asked her and she sharply replied in an annoyed tone, “IM NOT DOING SCRATCHERS, JUST the powerballs” I shook my head yes, as in that’s what we wanted. My mother said that’s fine, that’s what I want. She the woman sharply said it again. I then interjected and said, “yes we understand. That’s what we want.” Mind you, my mother is older and gets a bit frazzled. But she clearly says, “I would like 5 single mega million tickets” the woman goes to the machine the paper prints. At this point, I’d like to say maybe she was multitasking or she was busy, but she was fully engaged in the machine so for her to completely disregard what my mother said and print something completely different, then almost try to argue with my mom when my mom said these aren’t what she asked for. The woman said, “yes, you wanted… (at this point my mother feels completely looked over and interrupted her and and said, “5 single mega millions. Not this.” (I don’t know what she printed as I don’t play the power ball or whatever. But it definitely isn’t what my mom gets) she just took it and said it was fine. But asked her to check last weeks tickets for a winner. The woman says, “you want me, to check these? For what?” My mom said, winners…!!!!!??? She “checks” them and again, sharply says, no. They’re not! (BTW one was, we went to another bodega in the area and they were very nice and accommodating, which tells me you have no care to serve the service you offer)
Lastly, after the horribly awkward moment, I had ordered a sandwich and was waiting for it, my mom and son left to the car because my mom was so uncomfortable at this interaction. As I’m waiting, a customer whom I assume is a regular comes in and she completely shifts attitude as I watch her death stare my mother all the way to the car. (Don’t worry, I gave you that same energy you gave her, and you didn’t even realize it…. But I watched you….)
Needless to say, never again will I ever step foot in the place, I don’t care how good your sandwich was. And, the guy was super nice. Other than that, that woman is not friendly and, I’m not saying you need to give to everyone the energy you gave “Ray” (the person she greeted with a hug after cashing my mom out) but it’s not hard to be nice and not so short and sour about some lottery ticket!
It’s crazy to see that all the 1-2 stars are also completely of the crappy attitude! Glad to see I’m not...
Read moreI used to enjoy going here and supporting a small Five Points business. Although this time there was an employee that had an attitude and complained the whole time about being short staffed and not wanting to have to work at all today. I work in the field of serving customers and think it’s ok to vent after a tough day to friends/family but her going on and on about not enjoying work while I was there made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. She even asked that the front door was shut during business hours I assume to stay on the clock but make the store look closed, avoiding having customers come in when it wasn’t busy at the time. I like supporting this business but hope the employees can be less negative in the future at least in front...
Read moreYesterday I stopped inThe little Bodega to show my support. I ordered 1 Pastrami sandwich with yellow mustard. Which they didn't have I wanted american white cheese, they didn't have the cheese either just onions. The sandwich comes with avocado Italian dressing and Swiss cheese. I don't eat any of those things. Never the less the plain dry pastrami sandwich with extra meat and a small iced oatmilk with a toy teaspoon of coffee came up to $28 I feel I was over charged for not wanting all that stuff on my pastrami sandwich. I understand trying to have a business but this store is a rip off for convenience and you can get into it with the homeless because of the location. Rude over priced and in a potentially...
