The bartender with the extended side burns was the one to serve me on 3 attempts within the last 3 months. My first time I was here was on a Sunday evening during a Sunday Night Football game. There were about 3 other people there, and it took near 20 mins to get acknowledged. The second time, I waited around and never got served. The same bartender was talking to a friend, most definitely saw me come in, and never acknowledged me, and so I left after 15 mins or so. The third time (I’m currently sitting here), this same bartender had the audacity to murmur under his breath as he wiped off the table I was going to use. I was the one to clear it, and grabbed empty glasses and stood in front of the bar while he took his time serving everyone else at the bar, to include making small talk right there in front of me, as if to make a point, while I stood there with empty glasses in hand. He finally took them from me, and then I asked if I could wipe down my table, and he took a rag and rolled his eyes and made comments as he went over to wipe down the table. Then he quickly and angrily turned around and stated, “Anything else?” in an obviously super frustrated tone. I quickly drank by beer, went over and collected my tip I’d left him, (I was perturbed), which left him angry, understandably, but then he made a scene and everyone had his back and forced me to leave. I will never...
Read moreI live really close and enjoy the $5 shot and beer deal they do. I went in last night to get a drink after work and was told I wasn't going to be served because someone else was drunk. And then when I tried to explain he said he didn't care and acted like I was way below him. I felt disrespected. I work in the service/retail industry in management and I would never allow one my team to act that way to a Patron, especially unprovoked. I don't recognize this specific bartender, maybe he's new. He had some tacky hipster mustache and possibly side burns. I didn't get a good look because I felt so degraded I had to leave quickly. I go in a few times a month and have a decent rapport with some of the other bartenders, but I'm not sure I want to go back if the management is going to allow some entitled bully...
Read moreI've been coming here since at minimum 2008. This is the best bar in Cap Hill.
No joke, they have so much fancy whiskey at unbeatable prices.
The booze selection outdoes some "classier" bars, and is cheaper. The clientele is everyone, from the broke kid who just moved into the Newhouse above it to folks who work at the capitol to tech folks.
Mike took over this year and he's great, check out his hot sauces on the burritos they have on some days now (the chicken and rice is fire), and don't sleep on the jello shots if they have them (I know, but they are delicious when available).
Tl;Dr: Satellite...
