Blue Sparrow Review Denver. A city of near endless downtown projects, new chic bakeries, food trucks and bars, clean modern rectangles of buildings going up on every other block. Historic buildings such as Union Station still serve their original purpose with renewed interiors, while old turn of the century facades maintain their character despite seeing both horse and buggy and streetcar pass them by. In this spirit, Blue Sparrow Coffee fills its space in the historic Sadler building with grace, with interior touches connecting to the mid-century design of one ofJames Sadlerâs earlier commissions. Besides just looks, the interior offers the author exactly what he had been seeking, accessible, plentiful and functioning power outlets. Comfortable upholstered tall chairs fill the countertops, while cyan leather and oak accented booths, large tables and dark leather couches provide a common space in the sprawling interior. The playlist, a calming mix of acoustic heavy folk and padded indie rock mix. Onto the coffee. Blue sparrow roasts their own beans, promoting their espresso roast and an assortment of house blends in colorful packaging on the shelves. While the simplistic âlight roastâ and âespresso blendâ might lead one to think the many details of the coffeeâs origins are being ignored, the back of the bags showcase those all-important details such as altitude, varietals and farms that ensure an equitable supply chain across continents. Rare releases feature handwritten farms and notes, with a short story on the back of how this particular bag made its way to your hands. The author ordered an 8 oz oat milk mocha, and was impressed by the milkâs substance, the excellent foam and the balanced profile of chocolate and espresso that interplayed in the cup. Numerous offerings such as long blacks, Japanese iced coffee and matcha provide a cornucopia of options. Their pastry case is well stocked with eye-catching treats, for those hoping to catch a quick bite on the way to work. Blue sparrow offers a relaxing environment for a long stay to work or catch up, or an excellent place for a daily cup on the way to work at the Capitol or other adjoining public service enterprises. Take a second, if you find yourself on a stroll down 16th,...
Read moreI really want to love this place... I like the location, I like the staff in general as well as the atmosphere... the thing keeping me from giving it a better review is that every time I go inside to order a large cappuccino, I get a history lesson or a diatribe on how there is no such thing as a large cappuccino! Even though all of their competitors in the area offer such a drink. I usually have to say something to the effect of "whatever mental gymnastics you need to perform in order to make a large cappuccino" to which I usually get some combination of oh you mean a large flat white or a large dry latte. I've been on the planet for over four decades and have ordered many large cappuccinos in my lifetime and this is the only place where I get such resistance. If the owners could just wrap their mind around the fact that large cappuccinos do indeed exist even if they aren't what was originally conceived in the way of a cappuccino... It would make my life easier... The last thing I want is from somebody half my age to give me a history lesson and explain to me why my order is incorrect. I don't consider that good...

As someone whoâs a big Starbucks fan, I was surprised to find myself saying this, but the coffee here is genuinely better. You can taste the quality in every sip. They have a diverse menu with something for everyone, and the prices are refreshingly affordable.
Blue Sparrow has officially become my new go-to coffee shop. Highly recommend giving it a try if youâre looking for great coffee, good vibes, and a place that...
